Question about an Artisnal submission possibility. I personally have quite low levels of aptitude with standard forms of art. Sculpture, canvas painting, drawing, sketching, what have you. I am, however, moderately okish at painting miniatures, such as those for Warhammer. Would it be acceptable to submit a miniature painted and specifically modified to resemble a Lusternian character? Like, say, taking a minotaur figure, modeling some changes, adding and subtracting things, painting it up, and identifying it as Torgith? Just wondering if it would be possible before I went out and started going all gung ho about it, heh.

I bet that would be cool to see. It does take a some skill and creativity to put together a miniature. I saw a tutorial on the web about how this guy cut up three or four minis and made a totally new one. After painting it, it looked rather nice.

I'd say you can't do that, but thats only because I don't want to lose!
They allow flash, why wouldn't they allow minatures. Just make sure its -very- lusternian. Er wait, no don't do that, I don't want to lose.

I'm guessing they'd say no, unless you are creating the figurine yourself. But that's only my guess...

I think Richters right, it has to be 100% your own work I thought it said in the rules?
But itd be pretty cool if you started making sculpture/minitures of people in lust, Id bet people would pay you for them as well

That's not entirely true.

Not entirely all Sobran's own work. I would say ask, but I think you would be able to, so long as you're the one who painted it or altered it.

Might want to check that. I think Sobran was shrubbed for one of his entries breaching plagiarism policies.

Le sigh, its a no go. Ill probably do it anyhow and put it up here, just not submit it or anything.

Hmm, speaking of which... I wonder how sculpture would do. I have a Taurian sculpture sitting next to my comp actually. I'm alot better at 3D than 2D stuff, though my sketches haven't done so bad in the past.
Anyone want a bust done of their character?

I think people have submited artwork based on pictures modified afterwards (stock pictures, I mean. Not modifying another person works) so in this case is similar.
It's like me taking a pic out of a castle, then using it as a base to make the tosha monastery because I liked the texture of the walls.
Just my two cents, though.
