Thanks a lot Hewlett-Packard. I tried installing one of their printers using the software from their website, and now my 'registry' files are screwed and I can't even open zMud due to an error that's over a hundred pages long. Their online tech support people are nice, but quite inable to help.
Yay....
Yay....

Do you know which registry keys are screwy? You could just delete them and hope for the best . Could make things worse, might fix it, who knows!
Google for some help and then: run>regedit and have a play. Except, be careful and not so play-like.

Fixed it, at a cost.. thank the computer god for a good system restore.
15 hours straight working on it. Fun times.

I have a HP deskjet. It works perfectly, as long as I remember to feed it regularly with paper and ink. If I forget either, it gets quite cranky.

Yeah...
I had to get another printer because the EPSON CX5200 I was using had a major design flaw (in simple terms, the ink tube pops off) that arose just after the warrant ends. (I wonder if that was intentional) After researching it a bit, I've found that quite a few people have had the exact same problem, at the same post-warrant time frame.
Thus, don't use anything from HP's software website and don't use Epson printer/copier/scanners. The software is free because it's buggy and sucks, and the Epson products tend to have that same design flaw. Enjoy.

Yea, that tends to happen with printers. Them needing those to work and all that.

Hmm, my HP printer has always been friendly to me. Well, there was that time where it wouldn't print and documents would get backed up in the queue, but it stopped doing that when I came across a couple free printers that live happily in my closet, dreaming of replacing my current printer.

Our HP printer sucked. And my HP computer sucks worse.
