I was just curious. The planes of nil and celestia are obviously linked with the skills of nihilism and celestialism, same with aquamancy and geomancy and their respective planes. So, my question is, since there are planes of fire, air, vortex, and continuum, are there later going to be skills relating to these planes? Have these skills been discussed at all?

Estarra has said a fourth archetype for each city/commune has always been planned, so I assume that may draw on another plane or two. Also, there will be other cities/communes opening up in the coming years which will have their own planes associated with them.

I would imagine those planes would go with Halifax and Gaudiguch, and yes, they've been discussed far, far too much.

As far as the layout of Faethorn goes there are places where archways to the planes of Fire/Air could be connected, all they'd need to do is add 6 rooms total to faethorn and a rift.
on Prime-side there are places they'd be connected as well, 1 for each, though that would be extremely hard to raid ever, possibly that would be good for a starting-out player base of the cities, and new areas/openings to the cities could be added later.
I've thought about how they'd be connected to Astral as well. Most likely to Aquarius and Aries.
As far as offical sneak-peaks, we're not going to get them, the admin's have told us that yes there are lots of things to come, and no they won't wreak the surprises for us.
Edit: meh, yes you can search the forums, we've got tons of "what-if" threads and "lost city" threads floating around

I think I might start a new clan working towards the return of Hallifax, just to piss you off .
thillieir2006-01-23 06:42:28
There's already a clan to restore Hallifax. We don't need another.

edit: And its Hallifax! HalLifax! Halifax is a Canadian capital. My tired pathetic rant is over.

They could compete, whoever gets it back first gets the city

Learn the lesson of the Disciples of Crow well: posturing for power in a yet-unreleased organization is a waste of time, and particularly when you build up a huge ego to go along with it.
Of the original DoC crew, I think Richter was the only one to land any kind of position, and he didn't hold it very long at that. None of the originals made GM/CL, unless you count Chade, our resident "thief of thrones", who was only the financial backer of the DoC as I understand things.

Seems really sad sometimes though that a few players work for a long while, they end up sacrificing a lot of their play time and such to see the Organization return and in the case of the DoC they gave up their organizations only to see those that were against the Organization and battled to stop it from returning get all the leading positions. Though, probably better that the ones who the super egos dont get the positions.

Visaeris was the only one with the huge ego. Guido didnt develope that until later.
Um, yeah. Having people battling your org from the start... then when it becomes real suddenly and conveniantly changing alliances is kinda dissapointing.
In short, don't try. Nothing will come of it.

Its part of Dia to try and free Guadiguch in the very least, part of her history (Im writing it right now so youll just have to see why Dia's so obsessed with it) it really doesnt bother me if I dont get a position, the only thing Id hope for is being allowed to join the City regardless to being a Trill. I just really want to see the City not turn into another Celest, Glomdoring, Magnagora or Serenwilde and many who try and free it say the same. More than a few of us of course secretly wish for a position but most just seem to understand that we probably wont.
Id be really saddened if I saw a ton of Serens make the switch, and if I had any control I wouldnt allow most of them in but it wouldnt be my call. People who have actively attacked the Camp, and hindered the progression of finding the Hand do not belong what so ever within Guadiguch and it goes for the same with Hallifax.
