Woo hoo! I finally got my W-2. Since I am a big boy I am going to file my taxes all by myself! Go me! So I sit at my work computer go to the irs website. BAM! Filed my Federal taxes in 15 minutes. They had the option to file state taxes but I was like meh. Why spend 13 bucks for them to do it when I can file it on my own. How hard can it be? So I click to continue, and a screen pops up that alerts me that once I have filed my federal taxes electronically I cant come back and file my state. You would have thought this would have warned me, but pshaw I'm 22 I can do anything. So Alvin completes his federal tax thingy and decides to start on his state taxes.

Man was that a mistake. First off it took me 45 minutes to figure out which form to fill out. Note, the form comes along with a 40 page manual on how to complete my state taxes. And so here I sit.. staring at my 511 utterly confused off my ass waiting for my boss to get back from class so I can beg for her to help me understand the mess that is Oklahoma taxes.

Oh if oklahoma taxes was a person he or she would be soooooo dead write about now. A quick break off of my foot in their ass. Die Taxes Die...

Yeah... same... but my "watching him do them" counts as "me doing them and him helping" to me. wink.gif

I was blessed with a petty thief for a dad. So I just avoid them.

I always get my father help.
First, he sits next to me, we start the program, and he just points me at what to fill in the gaps.
After a few mistakes and 10 or 15 minutes, he has the keyboard in his hands and finished filling the gaps himself. Once he's concentrated enough, I can leave and he doesn't notice.

I feel like stabbing someone now.. but it has nothing to do with taxes. Eesh.. I should do those soon.

Hate getting all.. twitchy though.
