So.....Now What?

Back to Common Grounds.

A large, smoking mound. (road).
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. This
side of the mountain has been pushed out, leaving a mound. Strangely enough, the
mound is almost perfectly hemispherical. Tendrils of smoke rise up from the
mound and the ground around it is hot. A glowing cube slowly spins in the air
here. A graceful tree stands here, shaped vaguely like the form of a woman. A
large black winged roc is here, observing the area. A hornbeam sapling clings
tenaciously to the ground here. Squire Peter, of the Armies of Light is here. He
wields an elegant katana in his left hand. Squire Mitch, of the Armies of Light
is here. He wields a huge waraxe of polished gold in his left hand. Daganev
Treeripper, the Merciless is here, shrouded. The Moralis, Priest of the Black
Rose is here, shrouded. He wields a golden sickle in his left hand and a
darkened midnight scroll in his right. Diamante is here. He wields a baleful
rapier of darkened steel in his left hand and an unadorned darksteel rapier in
his right. Seeker of the Dawn Kalodan Caelicus, Golden Faechild is here. He
wields a mystic cudgel in his left hand. Aqua Adept Tekora Freewind is here,
shrouded.
You see exits leading up and down.

*****************************************************************************
So we got Diamante and Daganev nearly fully deffed (or maybe fully, each has 20 or more defs) guarding the shrine, and killing anyone who tries to put stones in...
So...our event is at a standstill now? what if thats the only way to push it forward....good or bad oocly I just want -something- to happen...
What do you all think?

They can't guard it forever. Just wait, and enjoy the roleplay, if you don't want to power it yourself.
Unknown2006-02-03 02:20:13
Basically, everyone should do what they... want. Events should adapt to players' actions, not the other way around. Ideally.
Simimi2006-02-03 02:20:32
Yea....not sure if I should take the Fanatic approach and actually RP servitude to the ghost being or not...might be a good switch from the norm, but I would surely get booted from Celest and get my name slandered on Ct and lose all my friends, and exp...hmm
Vesar2006-02-03 02:26:11
I'm sure it's not the only way to move the event forward.
Diamondais2006-02-03 02:33:59
Dont worry Mimi, just go the way you want to go. If you want to follow Them then follow Them. Dia doesnt personally care whether They are freed or not, but shes given suggestion to how to free Them. She had Narsrim give her a talk down for doing that though. Just go along with it pretty much, and do what you want. Theyll eventually rest and youll be able to put stones up.
Simimi2006-02-03 02:36:16
Bot sure I want to though, cause I know someone in Celest would wine and bam, I'd be homeless...
I don't wanna be a homeless Dracnari with a slandered name and a price on my head... =(
Murphy2006-02-03 02:37:14

On a general note, it's interesting and odd to see the eagerness to support something and try to rush ahead even though next to nothing is known about it. Why? Just because "it's an event"?

As I've said on IRC: "Ooooh, I've never seen that before, lets do what it says!"
Joli2006-02-03 05:31:22
What if it blows up the basin?
Acrune2006-02-03 05:32:23
Then I'd laugh.

Reminds me when all of us were doing the "Aetolia" event in Achaea and we died from opening strange boxes, and were labelled heretics and traitors by our cities and various clans.

Whee.. too much IRE.

Silly commune-dweller! tongue.gif Our quest for greater power must be achieved... for, uh, the glory of all peoples of the Basin!
Acrune2006-02-03 05:57:01
And to see what happens!
Tsuki2006-02-03 06:00:29
... and we see why the Serenwilde was the only political org to survive the Taint Wars unscathed.

Tsuki2006-02-03 06:04:58
Y'know what happens when you dive into unknown water, don't'cha?

Besides, letting the event take time gives people who are around at different times the chance to participate a bit if they wish.

(Yes, I just wanted an excuse to use the shark smilie halo.gif)
