11.7 ESTEEM

Esteem is the power of will and surety of self that is gained by successfully
influencing the denizens of Lusternia, and winning the ego battles that follow.
It is used to imbue items in order to give them worth as offerings to the Gods.

You can check how much esteem you currently have by looking at your SCORE. It
will be represented as a percentage of the total esteem you can possess at any
one time.

In order to imbue an item with your esteem, simply IMBUE WITH
ESTEEM. The more esteem you imbue an item with, the more essence it

is worth when you OFFER at a shrine of the God of your choice.
Influencing more powerful denizens will fill up your own esteem faster.

Note: An item retains the esteem you imbue it with until it is offered, so if
you will lose possession of an item between the time you imbue it and the time
you offer it, do not imbue it!

We've just implemented a new method for giving essence to your chosen
God: Esteem.

When you influence mobs and win, you will gain a little esteem (the
stronger the mob, the more esteem), which you can check your amount of

esteem, and then offer that item at a shrine of the God. Corpses cannot
be imbued. You will gain karma from this offering as with any offering
of corpses.

Two questions I have:

1) Does village influencing count as working towards your esteem level?
2) Are items you imbue with esteem offerable by others for essence?

I'm gaining esteem right now, hoping to find out how the esteem essence will compare to corpses...that is if Terentia believes mortals can understand divine essence counts biggrin.gif

Esteem will fill just as fast as essence from corpses, because experience = corpse essence = esteem.

Only one other thing would make me as happy as this did - if we could have an EssenceCheck type ability so we know roughly how much essence we have offered to various divine without being a tightass calculating every offering.

Ask someone in the Order to check the offering lists for you.

Actually a line in GODFEELINGS would be really nice..

You feel the divine favour of Shkari for 4 hours.
You have offered 100 essence to Viravain since your last favour.
You have cost your patron 35000 essence from your deaths.
You have spent 200000 essence on shrine abilities.

And somewhere inthere you can have how much your lifetime ammount of essence has been

You have offered 100/354937 essence since your last favour maybe...

I hate that, especially when I don't know who is in the orders I offer to. But being to check at a glance that we need to offer 200k essence to your patron because of a spate of deaths without having to wait for one of the few higher-ups to get on would be extremely useful.

not going to happen some gods believe no mortal (except demigods) can really understand howmuch essence a corpse is worth or even what divine essence is.

My brain must be deteriorating. I read the original post and somehow got an idea that this is a way to increase the amount of essence in corpses, which made me wonder what sort of a fool thought of this. Only five minutes later did I realize that influencing doesn't yield any corpses, and who the fool here really is. drool.gif

from two gods I known

Terentia at this moment doesn't allow her order to see essence tallies
Hajamin didn't let his ordermembers except Aesyra (who was demigod) see the essence tallies

Hajamin said it was because there was no way a mortal could understand what essence was. So it has nothing to do with laziness.
