Seems like I'm jumping the entire chain of command here, and talking directly to the CEO... but;
I'm kind of wanting to be a death knightish char. Kind of an Anti-paladin.
Keep in mind I'm very bias as to my mental image due to past games, and what is accually possible in this game.
I'm looking for something that has (like i said, bias) *decent* melee coupled with debuffs/drains/pet (maybe)
Race/Guild info as well as what skill to advance in first would be appreceated.
Keep in mind, I've only been toying with this game for about a week, but It seems to have more depth then I could possibly imagine at this point.
Thanks.
Of course, everyone else's opinion is more then welcome.

I would suggest, going a race that you enjoy the idea behind, and going Ur'Guard, if that's your intention.

Murphy keeps saying aslaran is one of the best races around, speed and reasonable strength for a warrior. Yea but Ur'Guard are the death nights of this game.

you're best off going orclach or human ur'guard until you get to lvl 60 or so, then go aslaran.
Aslaran melee is the best, you have good speed and good strength at night as an ur'guard, and decent str during day even.
Ur'guard is your anti-paladin guild, and you can be as badass as you want as long as you don't do anything cowardly or dishonourable.

If you want a pet, you will want Tracking, but then you don't have access to the "death knight" thing. Or you can try to buy yourself a mount, and get Riding.

'Pets' as they exist in other games, only really exist for Wiccans and Guardians (the priestly types), as passive afflicters. Knights can have tracking companions if they're trackers, but the extra damage is rather negligable, the hound-related skills aren't combat-related (and not terribly useful, really), and the rest of the Tracking skillset (laying traps) is considered highly subpar at the present. You're much better off with Rituals->Necromancy, which has several fun and useful skills.

Aren't there artifact pets you can buy for a crapload of credits that can also attack?
Soll2006-02-09 22:46:27
Yes. 'HELP PETS'

Definatly Ur'Guard. Probably go human for now until you know where to go: just make sure to leave enough RP leeway to change your race (I know I can RPwise change into many things, but not Aslaran. As it goes now I probably will just remain a human). We're not too magicky though: both Rituals/Hunting are more utilitary in my eyes. Trust me, though, warriors here are FAR from the "Do big damage, kill fast" people most games make them as; there's ALOT of fun things you can do with a weapon.
As for the RP: biggest trick to Magnagora is to swallow the pride. Rank 1s aren't treated like dirt and ARE listened to, but are also considered 'less than' the upper ranks. Make Respect and Duty your big things and you'll be fine.

They can't attack denizens (I think?) and their damage against people is pathetic. They're much more for RP and coolness than for effect, and not what he meant by 'pet' I think...

Not sure if you can here, but in achaea Artifact Pets can afflict with amnesia if you buy the option. Also tracking companions can clamp limbs as well as damage, not much better but at least another ability.
