I just discovered that it is possible to use diplomacy (amnesty) influence to determine exactly who is enemied to a certain organization.

Is it supposed to be this way? I strongly doubt it. To avoid it, perhaps amnesty/diplomacy should only be possible on people who have you allied?

Seems fine to me. I imagine you could convince the leaders to tell you whether or not someone is an enemy of the village if you're able to convince them that someone shouldn't be an enemy of their village.

The problem as I see it, is this.

Seren1 takes a headcount of fae knights in Faethorn. Uh oh, two are missing! But he didn't see anyone attacking, did their skillful application of stealth save them from being caught? Nope!

All he has to do is go to Maeve and try to negotiate for every non-enemied Glom/Mag/Celestian that is online. Hey presto! Anyone who -is- enemied has obviously killed one of the fae, and they are promptly enemied to Serenwilde to go with it.

Good for the defending org, bad for anyone trying to use speed or stealth in raiding.

He'd have to wait an hour in between each one, and do you have any idea how OOC it is to do that?

"Hey, Queenie, can I get amnesty for this guy who has been slaughting your people, the ones, you know, that I said I'd defend? What? He's free to do business in Faethorn for nine months without being harassed by your knights? Sweet!"

If any Seren gave amnesty to FAETHORN to a FAESLAYER, I'd hope they were ostracised and enemied. The same for Celestians getting amnesty from Celestia for angelslayers, and for Magnagorans from Nil for demonslayers.

It's just terrible RP any way you look at it.

I'm talking about the influence one, that you can hit maeve with and not immediately win, and therefore not actually get them amnesty.

Not the one where you pay with gold.

Arnt you still technically trying to get them amnesty avaer, or am I wrong?

Your asking maeve to forgive them and then going O they are not enemied no worries then or O they are enemied?

Unless it has been changed in the last week or so, you have to actually WIN to find out if they were enemied or not. You can try to get anyone unenemied, whether they are enemies or not. If you succeed, either you are told how long the amnesty is for, or you get a "He is not an enemy of ."

In either case, the denizen is influenced, and remains influenced for about an hour, and you get experience for a successful influence.

Here is my question.

Why would you risk getting certain people permanently unenemied (saving them tens to hundreds of thousands of gold) just to check if they were enemied or not; if you weren't their friend.
