Uhh... Moondancers and Shadowdancers, I guess. They can imbue their athames with +10 to all stats with drawdown/nightkiss!
Unknown2006-02-10 20:47:22
Hmmm...
Xenthos2006-02-10 20:49:16
To be slightly more serious, you need to clarify what you're asking.

Are you asking which warrior guild is the best for someone who isn't a combatant, or which non-Warrior guild is the most Warrior-like, or what?
Unknown2006-02-10 20:52:16
Ohh! I'm talking about... Hmm...

Well, which guild, besides the enitial warrior guilds, gives out the best skills, abilities, and such like that, that makes them a great fighting force, for both Bashing and PvP. I tried the warrior path once, and I wasn't too thrilled with it, so I'm going for the next best thing.
Unknown2006-02-10 20:54:48
well "best" skills depends on the persons perspective, but I think personally a mage would be the best. Great hunters, and have damnses that help a ton in PvP and are just flat out a cool skill. But if you are not intrested in that I would try a Druid. They have damenses too, but also have really neat primary skills. It's really all based off what you want to do
Xenthos2006-02-10 20:58:28
Hmm. Well, I'd say that depends on how many credits you think you'll be able to get. If you can pull together a bit over 300 to trans a skill, I'd still say Moondancers/Shadowdancers. Decent bashing with Drawdown/Nightkiss, especially considering the damage reduction they give, and with a fair bit of practice your fae can overwhelm a lot of inexperienced opponents, though you only really need to nymph (makes bashing a LOT easier, it pacifies creatures, so if they're not aggressive they'll stop attacking you until you hit them again).

If you don't think you can get that much, go with one of the mage/druid-types. Geomancer, Aquamancer, Hartstone, Blacktalon. It'll take fewer credits to get your upgraded weapon (being a cudgel or a staff). This will do quite a bit of damage to NPCs, around the same as drawdown/nightkiss (maybe a bit more), but without the damage protection. It also lasts longer-- you don't need to put it up again every time you log in.

However, to be fully competent in any class for PvP, you're going to need a fair number of credits. It takes far fewer to be able to bash.

Edit: You'll notice that I mentioned all of the guilds except two. Nihilists and Celestines. This is because their only real denizen attack is Cosmicfire, which is pretty weak later on... not exactly excellent for bashing purposes. They can be good at PvP, but it takes a LOT of lessons and practice to figure out what you're doing and how to pull everything together.

I'm leaning towards a Dracnari Nihilist, personaly. I hear that CosmicFire isn't all that pimp, but they can summon demons and such, and my new chara (named Ysuran tongue.gif) will be a follower of the dark arts, basicly, kinda badass, but yet in the background, manipulating people from the sides... I don't know. I'll give it a try and wing it as I go along.

EDIT: And it's Demesne, not Demenses biggrin.gif

I actually added in a little note about Nihilists / Celestines in my previous post. Demons can be used to siphon off some afflictions if you don't have the cure handy, but otherwise they won't help much with bashing. You'll be reliant entirely on cosmicfire.

Well, I'll need a job... Ohh well. I'll try my best, and then when I turn 15 or something, which is going to be soon, I'll be able to get a decent job and earn some extra $$$, and maybe become as badass as some of them people who I've been hearing so much about. tongue.gif
Unknown2006-02-10 21:03:15
Never could spell and I don't expect it to change over night tongue.gif. But I was a Nihilist on another char a long time, and I personally found it cool to start off with, but trying to bash got so irritating. Yea it's possible, but I am not a patient person so yeah...I made Airees biggrin.gif. Everyones fave feline!

You don't necessarily need a job. You can earn money in-game by bashing / questing / whatever and buy credits that way. If you're going to do that, I'd suggest a mage/druid, just because it takes fewer to get to the staff / cudgel for bashing. It will take time and work, but hey, most things do. happy.gif

Aye... But a job helps wink.gif

Celestines are probably the most solid guild in terms of PvP combat.

In terms of bashing, I'd say Geo/Aquamancers, or Shadow/Moondancers, as the former get the best bashing skills in the game and the latter get fae that make monsters passive and the second best bashing skill in the game.
Shiri2006-02-11 01:32:50
Moondancers are probably the best guild for bashing right up until level 70-80...depending on when you start to go to Astral/Catacombs, at which point warriors (which are both tankier and hit faster, but don't have nymph) start to outstrip them, and mages/druids probably have staff and were bashing faster but were less tankier anyway.

Guardians just have a tough time all round.

Aye, which is -with- a nymph(which takes considerable hunting for gold for credits for lesson to get, or OOC credits).

Moondancers without a nymph should stick to weevils untill lvl 40ish when it finally becomes safe to hunt rockeaters and cows and other small-end mobs *remembers from his frail elfen pre-nymph days*

Edit:ok, back on point, if your going for pure damage against a mob go for Elfen Moondancer, Faeling Shadowdancer, or Merian Aquamancer. However all three of these have relitively no life compaired to other classes/races, and as a lowbie you'll end up dieing a few times untill you sort out how to go about hunting without dieing a bloody bloody death. suicide.gif (most people just quest up a lot to start with)

...and speaking of that there -are- tons of quests out there that involve 0% fighting and give lots of experiance for the youngins. oldie.gif
Stangmar2006-02-12 05:37:52
hmm, Wiccans and Guardians are pretty nice for PvP, mages and druids as well. Mages and Wiccans are probably the best bashes, and perhaps druids, then at upper levels Warriors are the best.
Simimi2006-02-12 13:57:19
Speaking as a loooong time Dracnari Celestine, those hps will pay off when your hiding behind your pentagram throwing out massive spasms of puella trying to recoup your health cause your sip is pathetic, as you wait to hurl a few hundred more cosmicfires at the monster, as it laughs at you.
Its not really -that- bad.....oh wait, with 14 int...yea....yea it is.

Either Mag or Moondancer, and I would go Mugump. Yea they look like crap at first, but that speed is nice. Hit and shield and some you can do before they attack. So really -slap moose- -shield- -moose kicks your shield- -slap moose- -shield- ect
Laxinova2006-02-13 12:52:35
Either Aquamancer or Geomancer, Mugwump for both, Merian for Aquamancer or Viscanti/human for Geomancers all the way!
