This topic spawned from a lengthy conversation in one of my clans: What is the stranges/most disgusting/innocent sounding but actually nasty food you have ever eaten? Why did you eat it? Did you know what it was beforehand? Just curious. smile.gif

Dried blood clots,
I thought they were dried fish balls at the time, though upon finding out what they really were, i kept eating them cause they tasted good.
Arix2006-02-13 04:57:18
I didn't know fish had balls....
Simimi2006-02-13 05:01:15

*masterfully un-hijacks own thread* The strangest food I have eaten (currently) would have to be Rocky Mountain Prairie Oysters, which turned out to be deep-fried bull testicles.

Hey, this wasn't something I ate, but some guy just came down after cleaning his room with a closed package of something resembling a pop tart that had 5 different types of mold growing on it. He asked me to smell it, and for whatever reason I agreed. He opened it, I wafted gently, and almost vomited and now my nostril is burning sad.gifsad.gif.

But as for nastiest thing eaten...I'm not that adventurous. I'd say steamers because I personally don't like them and think they are disgusting.

You didn't know that?!

Hmm...strangest food...probably raw octapus. Didn't really taste like anything though. Grossest food: poorly made, americanised pad thai. You kow it can't be that great when the waiters are all white, but I ordered it anyways. MISTAKE. doh.gif
Simimi2006-02-13 05:10:38
You poor poor thing...here let me make you some REAL pad thai...
*comforts Kait, having suffered the shame of poseur thai food before*
It is ok...the hurt will go away...in time... =(

The hurt might, but the shame never will. *sad head shake*

I was about 9 when I tried Rocky Mountain Oysters. I was living in Colorado, and someone prought them to a party we went to and thought it would be amusing to have me try one without telling me what they were. Mind you, he wasn't so amused when I shoved him into the swimming pool.
Simimi2006-02-13 05:17:45
So true...that shame will live with you forever, just imagine how i feel, as a Thai who ate poseur thai food...I'll be workin off that karma for a few lifetimes... sad.gif

So, all those things you ate, was there a reason you ate them, like a bet or something?
And regarding the Hufu site, I SOOO want one of those baby seal shirts

They weren't too bad, actually. The cow's udders were ick, magpie pies were nice. Possum = yummy.
