my god the poor kid..I remember when a friend of mine sent me a link to that "image". He said raise the volume level a lot, it rocks! And I certainly screamed, I must confess

There's a better one out there. It's a movie clip, looks like a TV commercial for a luxury call. Rolling green hills, soft, soothing music, gold-tone car going around a curve, ducks behind a hill...and it all gets covered up by a high pitched scream and some obscenely twisted mask filling up the screen.
Much easier to send, much easier to explain.

There's this dude I know, he's a real 
most of the time, that's been kinda pissing me off for about a week now. So when I saw that link that Xavius posted, I just had to send it to this guy. So I talked to a bunch of people I know who hang out at his house a lot, just to make sure they'd be there when he opened the link. Then, I sent him the link with the message that it was a really weird car commercial (he is obsessed with cars, as well as weird commercials) along with the instructions to turn it up because it was kinda low quality and the announcer was kinda quiet. Further to that, I told him that it switched to a really cool close-up right after the car goes behind the trees. One of the people I sent to his house had a video camera, and was unobtrusively recording from the corner of the room. So what happens is, there are about 5 people in the room, all leaning expectantly towards the screen. The screamer pops up, and the one dude screams like a girl and falls backwards in his chair, while the rest of the people run out of the room. And it was all recorded for posterity, although I won't be able to get a copy for awhile.

I havn't seen it yet, bt I have to poke in anyway to say that those 'screamer' things are evil.
First time I've dealt with them I was playing another mud at the time. A friend gave me a link saying "try to find what's wrong with the picture". I go to the link and it's a picture of a living room. I'm doing the usual.. staring up close to find whatever the wrongness is.
After a minute, I switch back to the mud, going "I can't find it". Meanwhile, some others are cursing out (playfully) the link sender. I'm sitting there confused.
Then out of nowhere, in my dead quiet dorm room in the middle of the night with only me there, comes a gut wretching scream.
Later on, I find out that there was a picture of some scary face and a loud scream. I missed the face because I switch off of the browser, but the scream still came in. Don't know what's worse: Seeing that face (I saw it later on, it WAS scary, even after knowing it's coming) or just sitting there playing when a sudden SCREAM comes out.
I know one thing: If I'm not playing music, the speaker stays OFF.
And no, I'm not clicking on the screamer links (though I'll probably look at the poor child). Once I read.. JUST READ, the game guide to Silent Hill 4 and had small panics for a month. I kept worrying that my apartment would end up haunted.
