I was thinking of what we have irl that isn't in Lusternia, which just happened to be in the middle of math class. But anyways, I don't know if anyone has had this idea before or not... what if we performed plays in Lusternia? you know, have lines and a skit, costumes and everything that goes along with it; people comming to watch and laugh and cry. All that fun stuff.
What do you think?

I'd be in.
laith2006-02-15 16:29:22
yay
Unknown2006-02-15 16:30:06
Yeah that'd be for pwn
Shamarah2006-02-15 16:33:47
I think Achaea has an actual system for plays.
laith2006-02-15 16:36:20
I've never played Achaea before besides, how could I forsake my beloved Lusternia? It would be fun to have plays in lusternia, it could add some more culture.
Shorlen2006-02-15 17:14:25
I don't see a need for some special system for plays, personally... you can do everything with what we have, though the costumes would be a bit hard without custom designs for each article of clothing

Meh, my char has been trying to get a troupe togheter for a few RL weeks now. So far he has about four people, a possible playwright and an event to open with a play. If you're from New Celest and interested, you can look me up/message me in-game. =)
Edit: that might be a bit of ooc-ic collision but if you ask the right persons in-game, they'll point you to me I guess.

Plays? I've dreamed of being involved with them myself (OOCly only: ICly I think only Cwin would've ever been involved). The trick, though, is finding a cast that can get together to do it (or have enough stand-ins).
Probably best to start small: quick 1-act plays of short stories. The less to plan, the easier to make it work. Big heavy duty stuff should come only after it makes it big.
Otherwise, I say go for it.

Good idea... you should ask the charites to add costumes to the list of possible tailoring thingies.
laith2006-02-15 19:22:18
Thanks for all the great ideas... and for keeping me on the ground about costume designs I can get a bit carried away when it comes to ideas, I don't think realistically.
and....

You need to start international clans for the arts...
Then you won't have a population limitation.

I have a stage for this purpose, you're welcome to use it.

One of the things the (now long-deceased) Bards of the Wilde clan was initially planning on doing eventually was putting on skits/plays.

Indeed it does. I was in the second performance of one of the first (maybe the first... I forget) plays. Would have been in earlier, but I got so sick that I couldn't sit up for more then 5 minutes at a time for the first performance. Yeah, that was fun

My achaean character wanted to be in a play.. She held several music recitals though.. so I guess that's good enough. Their stage system is nifty.
OH wait.. I was in this play about how Shallam, Hashan, and Ashtan were all... gay men.. or something to that affect.. I'm not telling which part I was..

When an alt of mine was an Apostate in Achaea.. I faintly helped with a guild play. They're an arse. Not because you have to learn your lines.. it's a copy and paste job.. not because it takes time to prepare the stage or costumes.. a few lines of text.. but because organising all sorts of people with different IRL agendas to appear at one time in game is -HELL-. That's where the problem is, I'm afraid. But.. it's totally workable, and good luck with it if you go for it.

Well... on second thought, if a seren wants to contribute, he's welcome to join.

Yup, that's gonna be rather hard. The less people, the easier I guess. Either that or give the same part to two persons, in case one of them can't make it. That will make preparing the play a drag though and might make some people discontended.

That sounds good. I wouldn't mind if everyone got together and performed in huge theatres.
Although, if someone messes up on stage, it'd look pretty silly.
