Weird gate problem.

Even though Jelaludin is trans planar, he can't go from prime (pool of stars) to anywhere, though he can go from elemental to cosmic, cosmic to astral etc. No one else seems to have this problem, anyone know what it could be?

Nexus only allows you to use the Pool of Stars or Megalith as a gate. A gate connects adjacent planes.

Only Aquamancers (who have a special tie to Water) and Celestians (special tie to Celestia) can use it on Prime to go up.
Shiri2006-02-17 06:02:08
You need the Gate ability to get from Prime to Cosmic/Elemental...if you quit Celestines and forgot cosmic you won't have it anymore, so you can't skip from Prime to Cosmic like you used to be able to.

EDIT: Squire Jelaludin, of the Armies of Light (Male Trill).

Yep, you guildhopped AGAIN dry.gif and lost the skill. You have to go through the planes in reg'lar order like the rest of us now, no skipping any like the guardians/mages.

Yup, what Shiri said.

On a side note:Your Sig makes me die a little bit more inside each time I look at it, as I've been on games where 12 year olds talk like that all the time.
Acrune2006-02-17 06:26:21
I told you that IC too! rolleyes.gif

I must have missed it... thing is, I thought elemental was the adjacent plane to prime. Is there no way for a warrior class person to get to astral besides finding a gate made with that one skill (which I've seen maybe twice in all my time playing) or getting a ride? Or was it ethereal that is the one adjacent to prime.
Acrune2006-02-17 06:54:16
Ethereal is adjacent. Go from the gate above the pool to ethereal, south a room or two, enter gateway, find the water gate, and go where you want from there.

Edit... maybe its archway. Something like that. unsure.gif

Prime -> Ethereal -> Elemental -> Cosmic -> Astral.

You have to go Ethereal, Water, Celestia, Astral. (Or get a ride, or have a rift there, except that there aren't any rifts. However, there's one to Etherwilde above the pool of stars...but it's in Etherwilde, so you'd get nailed.)
Acrune2006-02-17 06:56:44
Oh, right, what a way to be enemied to Serenwilde. You really need to do something about that.

Uh... you could take an aethership there tongue.gif
Unknown2006-02-17 06:57:33
I don't see a gate above the pool suicide.gif
Saran2006-02-17 06:58:16
Actually that sig is making me want to revisit Baltare my character on the Discworld LPMud (Priest of Pishe, used to get random gifts of money for doing little to nothing just so long as i was always sitting in the same spot.)
Unknown2006-02-17 06:59:17
Serenwilde is teh suck lawl. Hopefully I'll be able to use the Ravenwood since they have no reason to unenemy me. Thanks for the explanation everyone.

huh.gif

On the upper deck of the Pool of Stars.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. The stars twinkle
in the clear night sky. Breaking through the dimensions, a planar rift slashes
through the air here.
A statue of Cuber stands here, memorializing his noble
spirit. A tame wakabi lounges here, preening its feathers without a care in the
world. A young rat cautiously noses about for food here. Squire Jelaludin, of
the Armies of Light is here.
He wields a mighty waraxe in his left hand.
Acrune2006-02-17 07:06:38
They've got at least one totem set against people not in glomdoring, and for magnagora. So just a heads up.

You see gates when you walk in, but not when you ql, I think
Unknown2006-02-17 07:06:54
That is odd, I see it in the room, but it doesn't show up on info here and I can't poke it or anything jawdrop.gif
Acrune2006-02-17 07:09:14
Do survey
ferlas2006-02-17 10:46:06
You have no reason to go to the raven wood if you want to get to astral.

The only way I know of to get to astral is etheral-earth/water-transverse at the nexus to cosmic-transverse again to astral

If your enemied to celest and/or magnagora your screwed until someone uses that skill to make a rift gate or what ever its called, Hmm if your a celestian and your enemied to serenwilde theres no way your getting to astral on your own legally, hitch a ride with an aqua or a celestian.
Vix2006-02-17 14:06:53
Heh, with your situation you're better off hitching a ride from a Celestine or Aquamancer though they do tend to get annoyed when you ask them constantly. From what I understand, someone (was it Shiro?) annoyed Hajamin with his constant requests for rides that Hajamin poofed him himself.
Unknown2006-02-17 19:06:07
Is it against Celest's rules to use the Ravenwood to get to Astral? I'd be surprised if Glom had a problem since at the moment more of the evil people know me than the good people, and they probably won't start disliking me since I'm going to follow Raziela and be mostly defensive.
Richter2006-02-17 20:35:23
For normal people

----------/ Moonhart \\------------/Water Arch | *Water*| Pool | *Celestia* | Pool | *Astral*
*Prime*----------------*Ethereal*--------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------\\Ravenwood/------------\\ Stone Arch | *Earth* | Megalith| *Nil* | Megalith | *Astral*

Mages can skip to Water/Earth via the prime Pool or Megalith
Guardians can skip to Celestia/Nil via the prime pool or Megalith

My chart ftw!
