I know we have a lot of races in Lusternia already, but if you could create the perfect race to play, what would you choose? Note that I'm talking more here about races which would encourage intriguing and enjoyable roleplay, not so much an unbeatable combination of statistics.
For me, I'd love to see a Faun/Nymph kind of foresty race. And even though I wouldn't play one, player Centaurs would be a fascinating experiment.
What would be yours?

Heh, nice. (Aside from entering a newbie area )
I also like the aether specialization, but I think gnomes wouldn't settle being anything other than commanders. Being gods, and all.

Nymphs and cenaturs do not have divine shards, right?
I really think Hajamin should fragment, creating the Haji race:
CODE
STATISTICS:

Intelligence: 10    Charisma    : 16    Size:  14
ADVANTAGES:
o  Are resistant to cold, level 1.

o  Native Weapon: Haji warriors who choose the Spearmastery

      races.
DISADVANTAGES:
o  Are always seen when moving, even when shrouded.
o  Have slower balance, level 1.
o  Have slower equilibrium, level 1.

Aye, but neither do Faelings/Viscanti.
Diamondais2006-02-18 15:33:25
If you want to get technical Faelings have it from their Elfen ancestors and Viscanti had them when they were unTainted and when they got Tainted they got distorted.
Laysus2006-02-18 15:33:52
I like the centaur idea.

It's a possible view a character could reasonably take, but its not fact. The first line of the Faeling help file says that they are not descended from an Elder God. As does the Viscanti help file something similar.
Narsrim2006-02-18 15:41:21
There could have been a centaur elder god.

some sort of race that is ment to be quick and dextourous, but quick for fighting and not quick for magic, like horkvals from achaea.
and perhaps insectoid-like, so that they could have a race channel or something that would make them highly protective of their race. i once played a game where it had two or three races like that, and all tells that were recieved by a member of one of the race would be heard by all of them that were that race, but that would be too confusing in lusternia, cause over there they had about 3 people playing at a time.
perhaps they could be like praying mantis's or something, probably better something that cannot fly, i would think, unless that same reasone that makes them highly raciel would also be something bad for them(like the ability to spy on any other one of the race or something(to the extent of only hearing says or something, nothing really big))
there would be no way to turn off the raciel channel if there was one.
so here's possible statics for them:
STATISTICS:
Strength : 13 Dexterity : 18 Constitution: 10
Intelligence: 8 Charisma : 9 Size : 14
ADVANTAGES:
o Have a racial language, (name of language).
o Have a level 1 resistance to poison damage.
o Regenerate health, level 1.
o Have a level 2 faster balance.
o Resistant to losing balance, being being forced to move, and falling down, level 2
o Can FLY.
o Can use HIVEMIND to hear all says that are made in the room of the target.
OR (depending on if the other stats are high or not)
o Can use HIVET to talk to other members of the race.
DISADVANTAGES:
o Are susceptible to fire, level 1.
o Are susceptible to cutting damage, level 2.
o Are susceptible to cold damage, level 2.
o Have level 1 slower equilibrium.
o Takes longer to writhe, level 1
or a race specifically for druids, heheh:
it would be a specialization of krokani.
4.14.9 The Krokani Race
Descended from the Elder God Krokano, the krokani are very large,
one-eyed giants. Despite their enormous size (indeed, their height is
second only to igasho), they can be surprisingly dexterous.
Unfortunately, they are not an extremely intelligent race and have been
known to be unwittingly used by others as shock troops or first line
defense in war time. Added to the fact that they are not a very fertile
race, the krokani are becoming rarer and rarer to find in Lusternia.
STATISTICS:
Strength : 16 Dexterity : 15 Constitution: 15
Intelligence: 8 Charisma : 10 Size : 16
ADVANTAGES:
o Have racial language, krokanian.
o Increased chance of seeing through illusions.
o Have a level 2 resistance to blunt damage.
o Have a level 3 resistance to magic.
o Native Weapon: Krokani warriors who choose the Bonecrusher
specialization can use one-handed bludgeon weapons more accurately
than other races.
o Special for Druidry: Upon gaining the Druidry specialization, a Krokani becomes a Shaman
Krokani with statistics changing by -7 strength, -1 dexterity and
+7 intelligence and +1 charisma and grow two arms due to the growing powers of nature, and
are thusly capable of wielding two more weapons.
DISADVANTAGES:
o Have a level 1 susceptibility to electric damage..
o Have a level 1 susceptibility to cutting damage.

Aye, but neither do Faelings/Viscanti.
Every Faeling contains an Elfen shard, and every Viscanti contains a shard of some original race. If I'm informed correctly, that's Elcyrion's position on the matter. Besides, Faelings are descended from Elfen, therefore from Elfenhoala.

Races I would like to see
Insectiod race
Love the faun thing
Plant type race
Turtleloid race
I wish the furrikins also had a flight option if they became some fort of bat furrikin.

Humans have shards of Yudhe's nameless son; so, in effect, they're actually higher up the family tree than the other races.
I'd like to see a winged race, like the Trill but more human-looking. Maybe the result of an Elfen being given wings by Isune (I volunteer to be the first member of that race.)

And not sure if it matters if the race splintered or not, as we have sentient races in lusternia MOBS that have not splintered. CCC
Centaurs
Nymphs
and so on.

Although, Ialie is correct.

Question - where do the nymphs come in?
Nymphs in Lusternia are fae, pure fae - so they wouldn't have a shard.

The Faeling help file doesn't say anything about shards or souls... But since you say so, okay. I'll tell eveyone it's okay to kill you because you dont' have a soul!
