From: Fledgling Dorn, Shadow of Crow
To : Hierophant Elryn, Phantom of the Dreaming
Subj: Further thoughts on the Wyrd
Hierophant,
I am merely a young student in the ways of the Wyrd, but even with my
small insight I can see through your half-truths and sophistry.
Yet, I suspect you will ignore my words as you have so many others. Fear
is such a powerful motivator, isn't it?
Simply remember that fear is a weakness to be exploited by those without
mercy.
~ Always for Glomdoring ~
~ Dorn ~
Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Juliary, in the year 134 CE.
Now, these are two different Dorns, clearly... but what is the explanation? Will modern Dorn understand that his name is forever recorded on the news scrolls as a proponent of Glomdoring? Is there some IC explanation for a 'past life'?

WHAT!?!?!?!?! OMG! I had no idea!

Heh, maybe it should show up as
From: Fledgling Dorn, Shadow of Crow (deceased).

Sure... The same explination I use when I pass a gravestone with the name Amanda on it or read an article or book with the name Amanda in it. Dorn of Glomdoring is just a different person than Dorn of Serenwilde who happened to have had the same name.

Ah, but HONOURS DORN only gives one result... which could seem to imply that Dorn of Serenwilde has in fact had a sordid past in the Black Wood.

Hmm.. Maybe Honours (which, by the way, I always type as 'honors' and it works JUST fine... enforced British spellings my ) only focuses on current living people who's thread is still running strong through that tapestry of the Fates'. And maybe the Portal only allows one person at a time through with the same name. So the dead Dorn of Glomdoring, who's thread was apparently finally really cut, wouldn't show up. And later, if the currently living Dorn of Serenwilde's thread is cut, there's a whole line of lil dudes named Dorn, some from every city and commune (who knows, maybe Dorn is as common a name in the Basin as Steve is on Earth and we just don't realize it cause none of our characters can remember 100% of what life was like before entering the Portal of Fate) who're waiting with lil numbered slips of paper in their hands for someone to call out "Number Three! Now accepting Dorn Number Three!"
Or maybe I just need to eat some breakfast.

Heh.
And... hmph. I was quite proud of Dorn v1.0, I'd like his brief but incandescent life to be distinct somehow.
Could we add '(deceased)' to any posts made or items created by characters which either suicide or are deleted for space?

Sure, I guess. Although... I'd love to meet this Glomdorinan Dorn. He'll be like my long lost cousin, or something...
