Trill need a racial language!!!

No they don't. You start changing things like that and it puts my lingustics essay out of date and with no RP reason for being wrong. I wouldn't mind of course... if there was a great RP fanfare about it.

Perhaps if Hallifax is freed, we'll discover that we did indeed have a language, just no one ever used it since common was, well, common in the emire. I woudn't mind finally having a racial language.

We had a discussion about this on the Serenwilde CT. We decide that the reason Trill don't have a racial language is because they are actually a rather violent race and would rather claw and attack each other - feasting upon the loser in some cannibalistic ritual.

I'd buy that. Sometimes Everiine reverts back to primal instincts, which could be silly things (imagine 3 trill tackling and playing with each other without a care in the world) or very unpleasant things (like when I almost took the head off the person that called me poultry).

Still, a language....

Trill don't have a racial language because they're all really humans disguised in chicken suits.

Where did you get that idea Daganev? They were part of the ruling council in Hallifax and have equal status to the present day Mesa Lucidians.

Just from the things I've heard around...

sticking wings on things that shouldn't have them, and trills being directly associted with Halifax.. I just sort of assumed that Trill never had thier own culture.


er just to clarify, I think that Bird men in other IRE games were winged humans, however in lusternia I think that trill were around before Estarra brought humans, so that wouldn't make much sense.

The Trill are the shards of Trillilial. Who was in love with Xyl. Who spilintered into the Lucidians. They had an innate connection to eachother most likely. But they were definitely equals.

However, they didn't evolve with eachother. It says in the histories that the Lucidians originated in the deserts with the Dracnari, and the Trill info says they live in the mountains. So they came together at some point to build Hallifax (though they may have been partners in the construction of other Lucidian cities, it never really mentions the Trill before the Taint wars though.)

I still think that Trill not having any sort of native language is total bull. You said they came from the mountains, so why can't they speak Dwarven?

She never seemed overly ditzy, none of Her Shards are reputed to be ditzy so..where are you getting your information? Playfulness and ditzy are two very different things, Trillilial was very playful.

The other gods seem to refer to her as being a little bit light in the head... *shrug*.. as well as sticking wings on things that arn't suppose to have them.

I'm getting my impressions from the year or so of playing the game, I'm not claiming to be quoting any source.

Why else would the Trill not have a language, unless they were never put in a situation to make thier own langauge?
