I want to cry...I knew I shouldn't have omnitransed so quickly
Sidra2006-02-25 02:42:31
Ack.. and I just converted 300 credits into lessons yesterday and today. Would have been nice to get 2.5 lessons for binding them.
Rashidat2006-02-25 02:43:46
It's nice for those of us who already bought credits under the previous bonus, it will be like double dipping.
Athana2006-02-25 02:47:43
Meh ya, I still think this is really cool though I hated that I had to rush buying credits when I first start a character, now it gives everyone a chance even those who don't buy them OOCly....just annoying to have 2k+ lessons and have no use for them...bring on the new skills!
Unknown2006-02-25 02:56:48
hehe, I owe a few people credits, and now the credits I owe them are more valuable then the ones they loaned me. *le sigh* such is life.
Seems like a good system though.

Shamarah2006-02-25 03:00:30
Cool! I may have to get me some credits...
Unknown2006-02-25 03:18:00
I always regretted not getting those bonus lessons in the first... 24 days? or whatever it was, when I had just made my charactor, extending the timelimit in favor of a specific credit limit is an awsome thing.
It now rewards those who stick around, and don't buy credits untill they realize, "wow, Lusternia is a great place", and it rewards those who buy from the market as well.
Also, it might spark some more credit sales, which means more money for Lusternia(and that new router), and more benefit for the players as well.

Subj: Upcoming Change to Credits
Iron Realms is implementing a change to credits, whereby we will be
moving to a new system using 'bound' credits to replace artifact credits
and neocredits. More information will be forthcoming once we make the
change, but we think you will like it!

Subj: Credit changes
Hi all. This is Matt Mihaly, Iron Realms' CEO. You may know me as
Sarapis, on Achaea.
Today, we're making an important and beneficial IRE-wide change to
credits use and bonus lessons. This change means a 2.5 lesson per credit
bonus on the next 1000 credits you spend on your character, but please
see below for details.
Previously, if you bought credits within 21 days after creating your
character, you would receive a bonus of 2.4 lessons per credit
purchased, for up to 1000 credits.
We are changing this:
1. The bonus is being raised to 2.5 lessons per credit.
2. We're removing the time limit, so that you enjoy the bonus on your
first 1000 credits without having to rush.
3. Instead of the bonus being given at the time of purchase, it is being
given at the time that credits are "bound" to your character - meaning
that the bonus applies not only to credits purchased from us, but
credits obtained by other means, such as the credit market or a transfer
from a friend.
4. ALL existing characters and all new characters henceforth can get
this bonus. Even if your character benefitted previously from the old
21-day 2.4 lesson/credit bonus, you still get this bonus on your next
1000 credits "bound"!
5. To receive your bonus lessons, all you have to do is type CREDITS
CONVERT # TO BOUND CREDITS. For the first 1000 normal credits you
convert into bound credits, you will receive a bonus of 2.5 lessons. No
matter when you convert them. No matter how you got them.
Ok, so what's this "bound" business? Well, previously we had three kinds
of credits: normal credits, neocredits, and artefact credits. Normal
credits are what you get when purchasing credits from us, or from other
players. We are simplifying by getting rid of the last two types
(artefact and neocredits) and replacing them with bound credits, which
are credits you bind to a single character. By binding credits, you are
merely acknowledging that all uses of those credits will be for that
character only, such as converting into lessons or artefact purchases.
Once you bind credits, you will not be able to transfer them to other
players or sell them on the credit market. This ensures that the person
receiving the bonus is the person who is actually using the credits,
that's all. It doesn't devalue the credits any, or change things in any
way from before, other than providing us a single point at which to gift
you with bonus lessons.
So, in summary:
1. Slightly more bonus lessons: 2.5/credit instead of 2.4
2. No 21 day time limit on getting bonus lessons with a character.
3. Bonus lessons gotten via converting credits to bound credits, so
credits gotten in any method can be used to get the bonus lessons.
4. Just two kinds of credits now: Credits and Bound Credits. Credits are
used for transferring to other people or selling. Bound Credits are used
for everything else, and are 'bound' to a character forever.
If you have more questions, please read HELP CREDITS and HELP LESSONS
for details.
We hope you guys enjoy this change. I think it's of particular benefit
to those players who cannot afford to buy credits for real money, and
who thus couldn't previously get the bonus lessons at all. Enjoy!

Great change, you can now trade in artifacts and get lessons for those credits.
Xenthos2006-02-25 03:23:55
But I can't use CREDITS any more, now I have to use CREDITS REPORT.
Unknown2006-02-25 03:29:02
Wow, this is a very clever change, and kudos to IRE for keeping customer satisfaction by allowing it retroactively.
Now... Estarra, make more skills so we can use them!!

It might not be anyone we know, it might be someone who plays another of the IRE games.

yeah, but still it would be nice to find out.

I like this change because it makes it so that smaller people, and people like me who can not uy credits that often can make the most of them and advance in skills faster
Valarien2006-02-25 04:36:27
Wow!
What an awesome change to things!
Hell, makes me want to go out and buy a bunch of credits right now XD

Verithrax2006-02-25 04:57:00
I have no words to express how much I appreciate this change. Thank you, Estarra, Matt, and everyone else at IRE.
Unknown2006-02-25 05:48:26
Quick someone tie me down so I don't buy credits with money that should go toward paying back college loans...
Jack2006-02-25 05:56:19
I'm not sure who I should offer to perform lewd sexual acts upon, Estarra or Sarapis.
I'll just send off for some creds, I guess. Meh.

I'm almost positive that both would prefer you stay as far away as possible from them, especially if you have the intent to attempt performing sexual acts upon them.
