I have a level 61 vampire on Aetolia named Serj (drop a message). I left Aetolia because the combat was unbalanced. It's a game of Rock, Paper, Dynamite, to quote somebody.

Anyway, I made an ur'guard (aslaran) since I've never had a weapons-based character. What's combat like here? I've invested money into Aetolia, so I don't think I'll leave it, but I'll definitely play this as well.

Welcome. One of the links on my sig should tell you all you need to know. And again, can someone pin a thread for welcoming newbies?

Fun, until you come up against someone like, say, Murphy, even if he's a wounding knight now. Or Narsrim, who any attacks you use bounce of his ego.

Annyway. Is good. Races are reasonably balanced, as are the classes, so no rock paper dynamite, mostly skill dependant. As in.. combat skill, not ab skill skills. Aslaran are a viable Ur'Guard race, too, as Alger proved. I'm sorry, you wanted an actual answer. As long as you don't bugger around with one of the "elder" players, the ones who are obscenely overpowered due to weapon forgings or long periods of time playing and practicing, you're fine. By which I mean Daevos, Murphy, Ixion, Narsrim, Amaru, Kaervas. Because Kaervas has smite.

Only take Murphy as a mentor if you'd like to spend all day pretending to be a clown as an excuse to put on lots of makeup and feel oh-so-pretty.
