Are there any mercenary groups in Lusternia, or is anyone planning on creating one?

Best group of fighters that are part of a said group are the Dreadlords, i don't know of any other organisation as it stands, but we don't really do mercenary work unless I feel like it/

I'm guessing he means mercenaries in the sense that they don't belong to an organization, and have taken hunting. In that case, no. I keep telling people if they make a merc org, then I'll make them a guildhall. *shrug*

Nothing in tracking takes power (besides that lame unite skill that doesn't work across areas, at least not on astral) but they'd still need some juice for numbness and the lunge equivalents. Can you get power for yourself from an aethership? Being able to collect would probably be the biggest requirement for such a group to be able to work.

Yeah, I still think Unite shouldn't take power like it did when it started so you could have mercenaries.. Even though you still need power for surge, and pulp and crush.

And you can't get a new pet, or use pet powers. Which makes tracking pretty much sucky.

Since Estarra actually defined non affiliated warriors with tracking as "mercenaries", I think there needs to be a non affiliated area where you can get a dog/wolf.

You can't run into a place and request a pet? That sounds pretty retarded yeah... and is there actually a way to get power for yourself out of an aethership, or would you need to at least have an agreement with some place to keep open a portal so that you could get to astral and get all your power that way?

You cannot drain power from a ship to yourself.

Mercenaries = suck.

Edit, because Richter is stupid. Yes, there are mercenaries in Lusternia, and they'll kill people or do certain things for you. Challenge is finding one.

Already did. As I've mentioned before, people don't like my ideas, even the small easy ones. That's why I've toned down the number of idea posts that I make.

Yes. I usually go to Astral for power. A Tracker uses no power for defenses (except Surge, and other hi/lowmagic stuff). Just don't whore Lunge/Crush/Assault/Sweep and you will be fine!

Getting a new mutt is a problem though, if you go rogue.

Could probably pay Magnagora to grant you access to their kennels. They incitizen you, you request a dog, and then they outcitizen you. Would probably cost you a hefty sum, but their RP definitely allows for that sort of bargain.

I'd say a workable solution is better than none at all.

I've survived off of just astral as far as power goes for a long time, though I do have 1 powerplex jewel. The problem though is how do you even get there to begin with a fair amount of the time.
