Make them faster. Please.
Xavius2006-03-02 02:49:53
If they were faster, the Wilde would have no rifts.

EDIT: Theoretically, neither would Glomdoring, but we wouldn't know what guarding a rift is like. It's been a while.

When I can drive to the corner store and get some quick groceries, come back and still find it going, after 20 odd minutes, there's a problem. Even eight minutes or so, just no the obscene amount it's currently at, whatever it happens to be.
Xavius2006-03-02 02:56:46
I remove statues and paintings just for the entertainment value. Those take ten minutes. They usually catch me after I take out four or five of them.

You should be able to make it faster by having multiple people on the job, maybe.

That sounds good, its half an hour as it is, cut it down by 5 mins per person down to a min of 15?

I prefer they just cut it down to 15 minutes, enough time to defend it as it takes just one web or shieldstun or gust to interrupt it. I find that right now it just promotes idling.

Statues and paintings aren't too bad... they don't take too long. Rifts on the other hand... I spent SODDING AGES removing the Ether-Seren rift from Paavik. So dull.
Yrael2006-03-02 13:24:55
My main complaint is being able to go shopping, briefly, and have it still going (sod you, IRE policy, if I do anything aside from reading the room description for the umpteenth time, I break the gate unravelling), I'd say it needs shortening. Not to the point when roving packs of destroyers/creators can canvas a plane with gates (or destroy them) at a second or so each, but 10 minutes or so. Comparable to statues and paintings.

blink.gif No you didn't! I removed that!
Aiakon2006-03-02 20:54:52
No you didn't. I did. We talking the same rift here? One from the shop in Paavik to.. Nil knows where. I had to make a little almost-novice go through to see.. and it died from guards.. so I decided it couldn't be nice
Shiri2006-03-03 06:20:36
...we're talking about the same rift. One of your guys walked through and died to guards, so Sivriel distorted it for me while I unravelled it. *peer* I hope you weren't on the other side unravelling it too, because I wasted like 30p on that due to screwing up twice.

No, the same dangers are evident there as well.

30 minutes is the reaction time the admin's give nations to respond if one of their rifts is under attack.

15 minutes is the reaction time the admin's give nations to respond if an enemy is in their territory weaving a rift, soon to attack.

Yes it is annoying, and yes I accidentally *&#%'ed up my last rift weaving twice, due to things like "reply'ing", but under NO circumstance should it be made easyer by being made shorter, even if you have 10 people weaving, on each side it shouldn't be shorter, because that would make it easyer to raid with more people, which would be more devestating in multiple ways.

Seeing you in that little RP box you have on the forums is entertaining to me, biggrin.gif referring to a novice as an 'it', in the Magnagorian fashion.

Or maybe he just forgot the novice's gender. tongue.gif

Would be nice if certain actions didn't stop gateweaving/unraveling though.

Like REPLY. I hate that reply stops unravelling. ranting.gif

Everything but moving or performing an aggressive action should work while gateweaving, but if you spam stuff you have a chance of losing concentration. How's that?

reply is a bit silly, and they should allow a few more actions, similar to what vix said. Anything that drops shield should drop gateweaving, hmm maybe anything that uses balance or eq as well since your being distracted, but replying shouldn't. The 15-30 minutes would be slightly less painful if a few more actions wouldn't break it.
ferlas2006-03-04 18:36:48
Erm is reply dropping things like unravel and prismic barrier a bug then?

Nope, but it is most likely an oversight, or an annoyance we need to deal with dunno.gif
Vix2006-03-04 19:16:53
You can't even use the apostrophe for says when weaving. It has to be SAY and TELL . Really annoying since I've never ever ever used SAY and only use TELL when off plane. (Speaking of which, why do we have to use TELL off plane? glare.gif)
