Bull. Maxis never hypes anything. There isn't even publicity for this game yet. Actually, lots of Maxis games are quite underrated.

Aye, definitely agreeing with you here. Been on the mailing list since it's been open and am building a new desktop over the summer so I can handle the pure amazing that will leak out of every silicon orifice.

Then it got bigger.

And bigger.

Now I want it.

The scene with the three-legged creatures mating is so cool... With the 60's porn music in the background. Game's due to come out this year.

Any idea on what the specs are gonna be?

From the looks of it, plenty of memory and processing power as it involves procedural content. I don't think it will need huge fat 3D cards with those graphics, though; Half-Life 2 was more detailed and had more effects, and it ran smoothly on my Radeon 9250.

I only watched 5 minutes of the video, I'll probably watch the rest of it later, but it just occured to me that basically it looks like bio-katamari damacy.

The unicellular bit is like PacMan. The multicellular evolution bit is like SimLife. The early civilization game is like Populous. The city bit is like Civ. The space bit is like MOO, and it's a big sandbox meta-game that encompasses all other games. It's awesome.

I am going to lose my soul to this game when it comes out if it will play on my laptop.

I've been watching this for some time now, it looks like an excellent game.
