11.6 DIVINE FAVOUR AND DISFAVOUR
If you particularly please or anger a God, He or She may choose to grant you
favour, or curse you with disfavour, both of which last a limited time.
There are four levels of favours and disfavours. Each level provides certain
advantages (or disadvantages) that combine cumulatively with all other current
favours and disfavours, with exceptions as noted below.
The command GODFEELINGS will show any current favours or disfavours.
The four levels of favour (or disfavour), from least to most powerful, are:
(DIS)FAVOUR, STRONG(DIS)FAVOUR, HIGH(DIS)FAVOUR, TRUE(DIS)FAVOUR
(DIS)FAVOUR
- Adds a point of constitution.
- Adds something to your appearance.
STRONG(DIS)FAVOUR
- Alters your skills, with the amount in each skill dependent on the God
doing the favouring or disfavour.
- Gives an xp bonus or takes away some xp when it ends.
HIGH(DIS)FAVOUR
- You will no longer need food or sleep, or doubles your need for them.
- Adds a damage reducing shield, cutting damage (of all kinds, from all
sources) done to you by about 15%, or makes you take about 15% more
damage. (NOT CUMULATIVE WITH ANY OTHER FAVOURS)
TRUE(DIS)FAVOUR
- Adds (or lowers) one point to all stats and two points to con.

High disfavoured by Viravain for about 4 days.
Why are my skills reduced? That's what a strong disfavor is supposed to do NOT a high disfavor. Unless I'm reading something wrong, this appears to be a rather major bug.
Ialie2006-03-04 03:10:49
It is all inclusive.. by not stacking.. it means having multiple favours from different gods. But True favour means that and all the other favours below it. Like adding something to your description. The top favour includes ones below it.
Unknown2006-03-04 03:11:15
Have you not noticed that the lower favour affects roll-over with the higher ones? You get more xp and bonous on skills with a High favour too
Yrael2006-03-04 03:11:38
Everything stacks with the favor/disfavor below it, not just one effect. Weren't you disfavored by Fain long enough to learn that?
Unknown2006-03-04 03:11:43
The 'NOT CUMULATIVE' part refers only to the damage reducing part. Like, if you have 2 highfavours, you won't get 30% reduction.
I think you know that though.

So you will notice your con low.
Something added to your description
XP will be taken away when you die
and also the effects of a high disfavour. It is all inclusive.

Well, that sounds like a bug to me because it is NOT acting as its written.
Ialie2006-03-04 03:12:44
So why did you get disfavoured?
Unknown2006-03-04 03:15:23
Nars are you saying it's a bug when the Highfavour gives all the good stuff then?? Never heard anyone scream bug about that. So just deal with it like everyone else that has ever got one.
Narsrim2006-03-04 03:16:27
A truefavor also does not give +3 con (which it would if all the favors added together) either. Something isn't working right.

I'm saying that we have a description of what it is supposed to do and it is NOT doing that. There is a problem. Either the help file needs updated to reflect what it actually does or the favor is bugged.

Perhaps if you would read my statements as I think the first post in this thread makes it pretty clear that I'm unsure and asking a question, confusion of this sort could be avoided.
Rhysus2006-03-04 03:30:31
I'm confused. Can you reiterate in specific terms what is not happening that you believe should be?
Narsrim2006-03-04 03:33:30
The help scroll lists a high (dis)favor and then lists what should happen while under one.
It does not say anywhere that all other bonuses/penalities cumulate. For example, there is nothing that implies I should receive -1 from a normal disfavor because I have high disfavor.
Likewise, if they are supposed to sum together (which definately should be clearer), then there is a problem with truefavours. The scroll says +2 con for a truefavor and if it summed with the normal favor, it would be a total of +3 con. A TF only gives +2 con.
Thus, there is some inconsistency, which is usually a sign of a bug.

Given the design of Favors in general, I say the help file is inaccurate. The 'higher' favors also gave out the aspects of the 'lower' favors as well. I mean, why would a True favor be so argued about if it ONLY gave 1 to each stat? Personally, I'd rather have a High or Strong favor then.
The help file just needs to explain that aspect. Also I'm thinking the '+2 con' was the person thinking of the total con a person would get (+1 from the Favor, then another from all your stats going up in the Truefavor), though it is mistaken logic.

Save for specific things mentioned, the effects are supposed to also contain the effects of the favours below them in rank, as is My understanding. This is why, when give a truefavour, which states:
TRUEFAVOUR/TRUEDISFAVOUR
- Adds one point to all stats (so a total of +2 con, +1 to the others).
- This is cumulative.
- 100,000 essence per day.
You will still notice you gain experience as it ends, your abilities are upped, your need to eat is less, you have a damage shield, etc. Even though it is not mentioned in truefavour, it still happens. The same is also true for disfavours.

Its like that in achaea too. Not thinking its a bug, just a slight inconsistancy in the help file.
Fain2006-03-04 03:47:24
Do not report bugs on the forums. We have told you again and again how to properly submit them, but since you seem to forget, read HELP BUGS.
