I'm starting this thread to see if anyone else has been gaining similar information, or indeed has any experiences to add that might help understanding of the ability. It's been difficult to test the cure very much because either not many people around when I am go to Astral to get insane, or they just don't mention it so I can try the cure and see the effects (if any). The cure may work, or it may not work ... that's what I'm hoping to find out.

Siphon some of the Astral induced insanity from your target unto yourself.
If I'm recalling everyone correctly, I've now used the "cure" for insanity twice on Narsrim, twice on Diamante, once on Soll, once on Mazeb, once on Bakulao, once on Kurama, once on Silimaur, once on someone else from Celest, and once on myself. At least 10 uses on others, and in that time:
- my sanity has never changed
- the target's sanity changed only once (Silimaur went from highly neurotic to neurotic ... which may have been a product of natural recovery)
- the target's symptoms of insanity were still evident
In using the cure, I've noticed three possible results.
An example of the first time using it on someone who is insane:

Perhaps it's just the messages that are misleading, then? Because just about every subsequent message from the first seems to be that further healing isn't able to be applied. "Their mind is far to weak for you to attempt to cure their insanity." (Yes, and I'm fairly certain I filed a typo on that message, too. At least, I think I did! )

The messages are just kind of estimates just like might I think, its like rounded to the nearest something, say 5% so you may have more insanity than someone but because your in the same bracket it will look like nothings getting lowered. Or in the case of that last one it looked to him like he wasnt insane but he maby had like a tiny bit of insanity to low to put him into the first bracket of insanity but high enough to cure?

I was trying to cure Mazeb about every 5-10 minutes during that half hour plus and kept getting only the "Their mind is far to weak for you to attempt to cure their insanity." message except for the first time and then the last when he said he was sane again.

- Fully relieves insanity in single cure (FALSE)
- Fixes symptoms of insanity (FALSE)
- Works on a delay like Regenerate, but a much longer one ... half day IC or so?
- Works each time attempted, but with misleading messages
- Works once for each level of insanity

My idea on this would be that you speed up natural recovery time slightly. Perhaps similar to guardians being on Nil/Celestia?

I don't have that skill, so I wouldn't know.
The Ab file seems to say it should cure a certain ammount of Insanity from the target, and give it to the healer, I geuss they just figured one go per 5 hours or something was enough to stick the skill in?

She was in neurotic to start and sane by the end ... those with more experience with insanity recovery, was that normal or does it seem the cure did indeed help?

I'm not sure how reliable going by the messages is going to be; they're not a set number, and the gap between them could be large. You could take half a level off, and neither of you would change.

I'm still surprised Serenwilde hasn't fully embraced anti-Astral RP now that we have a blatant reason to hate it, and not simply history. If I catch people being insane or heading to Astral, Sylphas is going to throw a fit.
