I just influenced all of Delport. Every denizen, both named and unnamed.

POLITICS DELPORT is still showing Neutral.

I asked on CT and apparently other people have been doing the same all day.

Is it broken, or is the effect just extremely small?

Serenwilde's been influencing in rockholm almost non-stop, no change so far.

...and the Passive effect from Magnagora holding just -3- villages with conquest seems to be SO MUCH more effective.
Tsuki2006-03-08 21:36:02
If y'all have been, then you might be catching up, not drawing ahead. I spent hours during a few days (haven't been on today yet) running around influencing most, if not all, the people in our villages, since that's what I do anyway instead of hunting to gain exp. biggrin.gif I know a few others in the Seren were doing so as well, and we hadn't seen a change either last I checked.
Shamarah2006-03-08 21:37:52
But I don't think gaining influence for your org decreases the influence other orgs have, does it?

As in, you could influence and you'd have a higher rating, but it wouldn't affect us any when we went to influence.
Catarin2006-03-08 21:40:11
My understanding was that the feelings towards organizations were independent of each other. So a village might like both Serenwilde and Glomdoring if both organizations influenced them heavily.
Tsuki2006-03-08 21:40:35
Right, but we hadn't seen a change either and were doing it longer than it sounds like you've been. wink.gif

Plus, we could get nasty and start shooing y'all out. halo.gif My denizens to influence, yes they is my precious...

Edit:
Guess who really needs to have her LotR movie marathon again soon? unsure.gif
Shamarah2006-03-08 21:41:19
Funny, I just noticed that we have a +influence in Southgard.

Not sure why... maybe someone's been busy influencing.
Catarin2006-03-08 21:43:50
What do you mean "get" nasty? Laysus threatened to enemy Catarin already for influencing hehe.

I think things will start getting pretty ugly if orgs start getting violent over influencing. "Kill that newbie! Its trying to influence!!"
Shorlen2006-03-08 21:44:29
I just influenced every denizen in Dairchi. Three times. After doing it twice yesterday, and other people did as well.

No change.

At least we're not commercial! "Kill him, he's trying to bring a cow to that denizen!"

Does the type of influencing matter at all? I've been using whatever I felt like, because it seemed from the news post that it didn't matter....

Didn't we have this discussion on CT? tongue.gif

If you use weaken or paranoia, then they're weakened or paranoid ... neither one is good. You can empower intimidating and greedy people, and it's better for them.

laugh.gif That would be pretty funny. "All right men, no cows get through and by god if I see one chicken turned in heads will roll!"
Unknown2006-03-08 21:52:28
Yeah... I influenced every single person in Dairuchi, some of them more than once, and nothing. I figured the change must be so tiny that one person doing it can't make a big difference. But if it's dependant on the type of influence you do, maybe I was doing the wrong one? I tried to find in the helpfile where it specified, but couldn't.

So, does it matter? Or is it just a teeny change?

Umm, you completeliy misunderstand the question.

Does it matter what style of influencing you use in regards to it making the denizens like your org better?

What about seduce?

Or charity?
Tsuki2006-03-08 22:01:39
... did we all read the announce post? #533?

QUOTE

The religious method to turn villagers to your side is any type of influencing (charity, seduction, etc.).

That's confusing?
Shorlen2006-03-08 22:05:47
My question was more directed at the admins - is it working right, or is it only working for some kinds of influence, or is it just not working, or is it only effecting it a very small bit?
Shamarah2006-03-08 22:06:01
Bit of a hijack...

You jokingly tell Phillipe Magimel about some choice rumours you heard about
him.
Phillipe Magimel flutters his eyelashes at you, asking who could possibly harm
someone with that beauty.

Male "sensuous disposition" mobs REALLY, REALLY need a different message for that.

Also, this is amusing:

Ooohing and ahhhing, you make a great fuss over a village woman's choice of hair
style, clothes, and good looks.
A village woman eyes you up and down, then slaps you on the rump in an offensive
manner.
