The figurine craze is now over, and I don't see hardly anyone using them. The thing is, the time was taken to code figurines, and it's an -awesome- skill, since it essentially lets you make a doll of someone else.
However, I don't believe that they're not getting used because they've gotten old, I think it's because of the powerstone cost. Even though we can use dead ones, powerstones are still fairly rare, and far too expensive. I believe that if we removed the powerstone cost, the figurine system could actually be used.

Miniatures ... y'need a jeweler to make a blank, and an artist to carve the actual doll from a blank?
I wish AB ARTS MINIATURES said that.
Syntax: SCULPT FIGURINE OF
Your model must also be in the same location as yourself, or you must have three
sketches of your model.
Maybe the powerstone requirement is to help alchemists/enchanters recoup some of the cost of the powerstones?

Two things for me:
1. the powerstone requirement, though using empty ones help.
2. the difficulty in finding people to spar with. I'm not talking about NOW; during the figuring craze it was STILL hard for me to get a spar going. Now I can't even find time to spar MYSELF, nevermind my figurine.
It is neat, though.

There's a ring in the Deepnight plaza, and I think that if we took out powerstones as a requirement, more people would congregate and battle. Shame to waste the system...

Make it so Powerstones are cut more often, or in larger clusters, or allow jewellers to cut for Powerstones, or create an artifact which allows jewellers to cut Powerstones more often. There.

what if it were something like you can make one with or without a powerstone, the bonus of adding one being it lasts longer?

Or have a random chance of creating a dud stone in a large cluster?

There are plenty of powerstones around.
Just find yourself a pet enchanter who does a lot of enchantment.. and ask them to save their stones at 1% and sell em to you. If they do that for say.. 200 gold... then that's a mark up of about 700% on their last charge. So.. I'm sure they won't mind the inconvenience.
