QUOTE
A barghest snarls savagely at a gutter mutt.
You smirk.
Midnight's gate.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. A statue of Athana stands here, memorializing her noble
spirit. A filthy gutter mutt meanders here, sniffing the ground.
You see exits leading southwest and up.
You pat a barghest in a friendly manner.
Growling in displeasure, a filthy gutter mutt leaves to the southwest.
A ragged beggar shuffles in from the up.
Midnight's gate.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. A statue of Athana stands here, memorializing her noble
spirit. A ragged beggar sits here, grovelling for handouts.
You see exits leading southwest and up.
Across the heavens, the stars and moon challenge night's dark reign, revealing familiar
constellations that tell the tales of myth and legend.
A ragged beggar shuffles off to the southwest.
You smile and say to a barghest, "Good boy."
Midnight's gate.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. A statue of Athana stands here, memorializing her noble
spirit.
You see exits leading southwest and up.
A barghest rubs up against you affectionately.
You stroke a barghest tenderly.
You say, "Hmm far to quiet dont you think pet?"
Midnight's gate.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. A statue of Athana stands here, memorializing her noble
spirit.
You see exits leading southwest and up.
A barghest nods his head at you, showing his acceptance.
A barghest says, "Indeed."
You say, "There isnt even any novices for you to gnaw on."
The corners of your mouth turn up as you grin mischievously.
A barghest licks his lips.
You scratch your head looking for an idea.
You say, "Lets see if we can find someone interesting."
You tug upon the aether strands around you, searching for one that connects to the Master Ravenwood
Tree.
You teleport along the aether strands to the Master Ravenwood Tree.
Before the Master Ravenwood Tree.
Oraki arrives from the down.
A dark nighthag says, "Greetings, child of Night."
Oraki bows respectfully to you.
You say, "Ah."
You say, "Greetings Oraki."
Your mouth turns up as your face breaks into a smile.
Oraki's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Spinner Oraki, Proselyte of Dusk (Male Shadowcaster Faeling).
He is 18 years old, having been born on the 15th of Roarkian, 123 years after the Coming of Estarra.
He is ranked 742nd in Lusternia.
He is an extremely credible character.
He is an Itinerant Traveler in the Fellowship of Explorers.
He is considered to be approximately 5% of your might.
He is not currently active in any family.
You ask, "How are things?"
Spinner Oraki, Proselyte of Dusk says, "Well, thanks. And you?"
You say, "O not to bad, quiet though today."
Your mouth turns up as your face breaks into a smile.
A barghest sniffs at Oraki with a sly grin crossing his muzzle.
Oraki's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Oraki pets a barghest ingratiatingly.
You pat a barghest in a friendly manner.
You say to a barghest, "Good Boy, be nice to the spinner."
You smirk.
"Heh heh heh" Oraki chuckles.
A barghest says, "Is it my fault he comes in bite size portions?"
You give a trillingly melodic laugh.
You waggle a finger warningly at a barghest and say, "Tut tut."
Oraki chuckles long and heartily.
Oraki shifts his eyes suspiciously from side to side.
Spreading his arms wide, Oraki spins clockwise and a shimmering white orb springs up around him.
The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
A barghest grins mischievously at Oraki.
You smirk at Oraki.
Oraki smirks.
Midnight shadows coalesce around a new day, and Mother Night embraces the land in utter darkness.
It is now the 12th of Kiani, 142 years after the Coming of Estarra.
Oraki ponders the situation.
Oraki leaves to the down.
A barghest says, "I would not gnaw on you. Now find me one of those snuggly little faelings to the
north, and we may be good friends."

Within the enchanted item, an image forms of Aerenna at Stone circuit.
Aerenna (Female Faeling).
She is 57 years old, having been born on the 5th of Roarkian, 84 years after the Coming of Estarra.

She is an enemy of your commune.
She is a member of the clan called 'Viridian Rangers.'
She is a mentor and able to take on proteges.
Her warcry: 'Son of a demented, three-legged jackal!'
She is considered to be approximately 90% of your might.
A barghest says, "I think I scared him away."
The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
You ponder the situation.
A barghest snickers softly to himself.
You nod your head in agreement.
Oraki arrives from the down.
Oraki gives a braised mutton steak to a barghest.
You flash Oraki a joyous smile.
Oraki's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Spreading his arms wide, Oraki spins clockwise and a shimmering white orb springs up around him.
A barghest gives a braised mutton steak the once-over, eyeing it suspiciously.
Spinner Oraki, Proselyte of Dusk says, "There. Now be nice."
You say to a barghest, "Ah is this enough to appease your appetite, or must you take one of his
legs?"
You smirk.
Spinner Oraki, Proselyte of Dusk chuckles uneasily.
A barghest tosses a steak into the air, catching it in his jaws and swallowing it whole.
A barghest licks his lips.
A barghest says, "It is a good start."
You pat a barghest in a friendly manner.
You say, "Good boy."
Chron raises an eyebrow questioningly.
Spinner Oraki, Proselyte of Dusk says, "I think I would prefer to miss the rest of this meal..."
honours chron
Chron, Disciple of the Way (Male Krokani).
You say, "O."
You clap your hands together merrily.
Spinner Oraki, Proselyte of Dusk says, "And I must depart anyway. Farewell."
Oraki gives a barghest the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
You say to a barghest, "A krokani would be more filling, or far to stringy?"
Oraki inclines his head politely to those around him.
Oraki grows still and his lips begin to move silently.
You flash Chron a joyous smile.
A barghest says, "Krokani are filling indeed."
Oraki is enveloped in translucent fire for a moment and is gone, his soul safe until he returns to
Lusternia.
Chron blinks.
Chron peers at a barghest unscrupulously.
Chron, Disciple of the Way says to you, "You allow it to speak, sir?"
The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
A barghest says, "Allow?"
A barghest says, "I speak when I choose."
You say, "Of course, and if you call me sir again ill ask it to do more to you."
You smirk.
Chron, Disciple of the Way says to a barghest, "Do not address me, slave."

A barghest looks at you hopefully.
Chron grins mischievously at you.
You raise an eyebrow questioningly.
A barghest gives Chron the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
Chron, Disciple of the Way says to you, "What do you prefer as a title?"
A barghest says, "I am no slave, one eye."
Chron, Disciple of the Way says to you, "I would accord you the respect you deserve."
You say, "You may address me as Harbringer Ferlas."
Chron slaps a barghest on the cheek.
You declare your intent to bear arms against Chron.
A barghest growls menacingly at Chron.
Your aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
You order a barghest to kill Chron.
A barghest obeys your command.
The corners of your mouth turn up as you grin mischievously.
Chron, Disciple of the Way says to you, "My apologies, Harbinger... I should not discipline your
property."
You smile and say, "Correct, now apologize to my property as you put it."
Chron blinks.
Chron, Disciple of the Way says, "Apologise, to a fae?"
You stroke a barghest tenderly.
The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
Chron glares angrily at a barghest.
You order a barghest to assume a passive stance.
With seeming reluctance, a barghest obeys your command.
Chron, Disciple of the Way says to a barghest, "I am sorry that you do not know your place, slave."
A barghest says, "I serve Mother Night, welp. I am not one of those weakened Moon Fae. I would
suggest you learn who you deal with before insulting them."
Thats the public part of the log anyhow, it goes on a good bit but Thank you!
Great Divine! *Cheer*

That's quite amusing indeed. And well done to you and Oraki for engaging in interesting RP.
ferlas2006-03-10 14:30:55
It gets better but some of it may be a bit dodgy putting on a public forum for rp reasons. Who ever the divine was for staying in the barghest for so long

Hehe kind of done in the rest of the log, just ic stuff , it was fun though.

Educate me on what?
I have to find a whip for the next time a fae misbehaves. Chron doesn't like them at all.
That was really very interesting though.

Barghests / Slaugh / Redcaps are not the same as other fae.
And most shadowdancers don't even consider their other fae to be slaves, as far as I can tell- the last one who really pushed that angle visibly was Erion.

Weird, you do know that the Barghast is directly linked to Night (unless i'm wrong as usual) one of the great spirits of your commune?
EDIT: Oh and what do the three night fae do?

No, you're quite right. Barghests are linked to Gwyllgi, one of Night's Avatars.
Unknown2006-03-10 15:14:35
Yes, but they're still fae, aren't they?
I thought I'd have my character go along with Rowena's reaction in the website history. Maybe that RP won't work... is it too different?
I'm sure someone will tell me in the game if I'm in trouble.

I am NOT snuggly!
But it's good to see so many RP going on. First the sermon in Magnagora, and now this. Time to whip Serenwilde into shape.

Not sure, but just keep in mind that those three fae in particular are linked with the avatars of night.
Rowena is/was the High Priestess of the Night Coven and was bonded with night during the tainting of glomdoring. Of all the fae I would think at the least they would be the ones she'd respect.

Diamondais2006-03-10 15:18:37
Nah, if youre going to be respectful to any Fae Chron you should be respectful to a Shadowdancers. Do the slave bit for the Moon Fae whom are considered weak in comparison to Nights glory. And even then, especially to the Barghasts, Sloughs and...whatever the other one is.

It's fine that you've *started* with it, but know that a lot of us IC don't really like Rowena or her views. She was deposed from Queen of the Night, and now she's a lowly guild tutor who presumes far too much. Also, Rowena's actions were to the "Normal" fae, not to the Fae of Mother Night's (which truly are different).
Just keep a somewhat open mind, as it is quite a different approach from what's normally taken. I'm sure someone will discuss it with you at some point. But really, don't change immediately (if you even do!). It is definitely an interesting RP choice. Go with it, and if someone manages to show you that some of the Fae truly can be respected (generally, those who have sworn to Mother Night's service), all's well.

Yes, "discuss." I'm sure Shayle will happily discuss it. With a full entourage of angry fae in tow.
