What is currently the best race as a celestine, for A) Bashing, Offensive PVP, and C) Defensive PVP?
Thanks.
Thanks.

my guess would be Merian Merian Merian

Human is good for bashing as a celestine - good con, good int.
Merian and Mugwump make awesome offensive Celestines. Loboshigaru makes an awesome defensive/offensive celestine - you're tanky as heck and you won't kill with damage but you can kill with the various instakills (absolve, judgement, soulless, inquisition if you're lucky.)

NO NO NONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I mention NO!!!!!! Do not go merian if you are celestian, best thing to do is pick based on what third skill you pick, if you go tarot I would suggest aslaran, because you can fling fast, and 14 int isn't bad for bashing. Mugwump can be good too, but you'll need to be at a higher level so you can tank some stuff, mugwump speed will give alot of people hell, and speedy cosmic fires make for great bashing, if you get low on health you can just fly heal then land and cosmic fire away. But Merian suck as a celestine, they are good if you are a paladin, and decent if you are an aqua.

Lucidian Celsttine would be nice too.
Regen in day is nice, decent int and con.

Best Bashing: Human
Best Offensive: Aslaran or Mugwump
Best Defensive: Taurian

Best Defensive: Taurian

I'd say best defense is Loboshigaru. Taurians are just too big, web owns them.

Merian, mugwumps, or humans are decent for bashing.
Standard-issue offensive Celestine is an aslaran with tarot, but I personally find the idea questionable. I'm inclined to believe that furrikin would fill the role better (mind you, I don't have first hand experience with either).
Merian can work for offensive roles if you're looking to engage in PvP more casually. Cosmicfire is bad, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Combined with quickening, it works well enough.
Loboshigaru rank top for defensive PvP approaches, but Amaru never stopped complaining about how bad the bashing was as a lobo. Lucidian may serve as a happier medium.

Human or Lucidian would be good for bashing. Merians and mugwumps aren't tanky enough to survive a lot of things.
Offensive would be aslaran, maybe mugwump but tarot aslaran is probably the best choice.
Lobo for defensive, hands-down.

HEY GUYS THERE'S THIS NEW THING IN TOWN IT'S PRETTY COOL IT'S CALLED ROLEPLAYING.
The most obvious race for a Celestine would be Merian, as they are the 'dominant' race of Celest and are considered racially superior. Otherwise, just pick whatever you want. There's so many different races that could make good celestines that you should be able to find one that will suit your RP without sacrificing much, if anything, in the way of statistics.

Stfu, he asked a question and people are answering. The most obvious reply I have for you is if you don't like it, don't read this thread. Likewise, some people are willing to flex their roleplay to fit what will suit them in combat. It isn't too hard, and I would think a reflection of a good roleplayer (being able to adapt, regardless of what you are).

You lose points for the "stfu".
Naughty Nars.

Lobo for defensive, hands-down.
It's pretty close between loboshigaru and taurian.
Same con and int, but taurian has better resistances. Cutting helps alot against (non-bonecrusher) warriors, even if they have runes since taurians also have a lightning resistance. The loboshigaru has better regen, but only by one level since honour will boost taurians up to level 2.
So, although the taurian might be better against warriors, the loboshigaru is better for the hindering archetypes because of the faster writhe and tumble. The Taurian is better offensively though, since it will have 3 more str than the lobo while enraged, for a total of 18 str with geburah.

Why do celestines need strength? Although looking over the taurian and lobo they do look pretty decent or equal aside from the size.
Anyone considered dwarf? They look pretty tanky good int and con, great resistance but a bit slower but lev one restriction dosnt look to bad?

did i hear someoen say merian is good for paladin?
Unknown2006-03-26 22:48:06
Most Merian lord do pretty good as paladins. Especially with surge they become damn tanky with. Those lighting and fire weakness can be kind of overlookd at higher levels because with surge most damage knights(they are the only ones that use lighnitng or fire attacks with artie runes) won't be able to kill you with damage.

Hmm... roleplaying... this word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
