Since jewelry can have runes on them, can we have tailoring runes as well? To make a jewelry permanent and reset, it costs 50cr, and it also gets an enchantment max boost.
To make clothing permanent, however, you'd need 100 credits. Per HELP CUSTOMIZATION, resetting and non decay is 100cr.
Can we have tailoring runes, just like jewelry runes?

Greatrobes though are armour, and I think that non decay armour is a no no.

Hmm how about trinkets that you could attach to robes that had artifact effects but when the robes decayed they would just fall into your inventory.

You can already do it for 100cr, I believe.

That would suck.

You can't have non-decay armour. As per HELP CUSTOMISATION, forged items can't be made non-decay; weapons can be made ONLY with runes.
However, rune patches to attach to clothing would be nice. We'd sell more clothes. Maybe allow Transcendent tailors to buy for 50 credits a Golden Pattern that allows them, and only them, to sew an unique Splendour outfit? It wouldn't be non-decay, just an exclusive, personal pattern.
And please, can we have splendour outfits that are dresses and trouser/shirt sets?

The thread is a thinly-veiled attempt to make it so that I can arti all my clothes for half price.
That, and the idea of rune patches is really cool.

Putting a patch on something to make it more cool sounds strange. Homeless people usally wear patches. If anything they should be embrioidered symbols
Richter2006-03-15 16:57:49
I'm thinking patches like those neat little coat of arms patches you see on jackets for private clubs.
Edit: Not the patch in the repair sense, patch as in little cool things you can sew/iron on, like from Hot Topic!

Sigils maybe?
sewn onto or absorbed into the robes doing the same thing. They wouldn't need to be visible unless runes are.
It's mainly because runes tend to describe things, so a rune that gives your weapon fire damage does so because it's damage is described as being like fire (or something... thats my thoughts anyway) ooc runes at any rate
A sigil could suit the more magical nature of Great Robes, ok in the end it would most likely be the same thing but a sigil could shift and shimmer across the robes. (sorry just like the idea of wandering around while softly glowing sigils float all across me... i'm not weird i swear)
EDIT: Also you'd think after the various mendings good robes would receive they'd be quite patchy anyway

Er, if you compare anything remotely related to my craft to Hot Topic again, I think I'll form an angry mob of tailors and drag you out of the Basin.

Oh now I like that idea being able to add patches or something to shirts or belts to get artifact effects, no worries about undecaying armour then.
And whats hot topic and why do you hate it so much
Ixchilgal2006-03-17 04:16:00
I like this idea!
Also, you could have runes that do things like increase (Or even decrease) the influence value of a peice of clothing.
Threadbare robes are Greatrobes, so, theoretically good for influencing...despite looking like a bum. I want runes to make those things look like crap, dammit!
And besides, we need something to counter the stupid massive afflictions/damage that warriors can get through runes.
