I'm an Igasho right now. Thinking of going Faeling since I'm part of Ebonguard. Question is though...if I go Faeling or stay Igasho...which would be better for a new fighter? Going offensive or defensive in combat? Do I worry about curing everything and staying alive or do I work on betting the crap out of someone quick enough to kill them?
Shryke2006-03-18 06:07:22
Work on curing, you can cure well without any trancendent skills, but you really need high skills to kill well.

Is it even possible to be a good fighter without trans skills and artifacts anymore? It's not in Achaea or Imperian or Aetolia. Please tell me you can here.
Xenthos2006-03-18 06:24:26
It depends on your guild and what skills you learn, and who you're fighting against.

Ebonguard, crappy skills...might try to trans them but buying credits ooc is almost completely out of the question and top fighter so everything.

IC credits are easier to obtain here than elsewhere. That having been said, if you have any dreams of being a top fighter, trans knighthood is going to be a bare minimum point of entry. That and a ton of patience.

Ok. Well I just learned about Oozes...so now I can do oozes and orcs. Both give really good exp too. So since I have to work on getting ic credits I guess I should go with curing right?

Also on a side note...how would I trigger A mass of sticky tendrils streak out from a slithering ooze, wrapping you in a cocoon of slime. It is a double line and I want to trigger it to writhe...any ideas?
Xenthos2006-03-18 08:02:29
zMud?

Trigger line with you to be sure that this attack is directed to you not to someone staying with room with you. Not always you will be need totrigger two lines. Sometimes one line is enough.

Using Zmud by the way.

Thanks for the help.

Arties can be ignored; they help but aren't battle turners. Higher level skills help, but aren't necessary, but to be a top of the line, you'll need to at least have fabled discipline and one trans guildskill.
Shamarah2006-03-18 11:16:43
As a warrior, you're going to need trans your Knighthood specialization and a decently high level in Athletics. Transing Night/Crow will help but isn't completely necessary. And as Yrael said, you'll want fabled Discipline to get focus mind (so you can escape from affliction locks).

As for artifacts, if you intend to be a speed or wounding warrior, they aren't really necessary and you can certainly function without them (for example, Alger was one of the best speed warriors there was and he had no arties at all). If you intend to be a damage warrior, however, you will need two elemental runes at the very least.

I'd go shadlow lord faeling. I used to be one and you are still pretty damn tanky with surge and a lvl 2 sip bonus. You don't get as much hp but when you sip, you sip for a hell of a lot of damage worth.

Pllus you can be insanley fast with good rapier/hammers so yeh thats my reccomendation.
ferlas2006-03-18 14:41:04
Dont reincarnate into a faeling until you have hunted up enough gold to get your weapon skill trans and then surge. Faeling warriors look like they really need to use surge anyway?
Xavius2006-03-18 15:04:01
Us 10-con faelings survive just fine.
ferlas2006-03-18 15:18:53
As a warrior though?
Xavius2006-03-18 15:30:52
A 12-con faeling with plate is going to be better off, yes.
ferlas2006-03-18 15:37:42
A druid or a wiccan could survive with 10 con, we've got lots of ways to hinder and run about warriors kinda need to be a lot tankier than us.
Shiri2006-03-19 03:02:10
Warrior hindering (i.e bonecrusher) is hardly bad either though. I'd rather have knockdown whenever I want it than brownie, say.
Shryke2006-03-19 04:07:23
... us one handers don't though... We need a way to hit with two afflictions per round or something... sad.gif
