Alright, after a few spars today I was really curious how effect amissio and leeching truly is. I found that against Lyco and Kharvik despite me quickening and amissio'ing them unhindered they could keep up with purely sipping, with sparkle I was barely a tickle. I figured at first Kharvik had a good sip and stat bonuses/high mana so when I tested it on Lyco I was pretty damn disappointed. Logs follow-

It has to be in combination with something else. You can't expect to ever kill someone with one move one-on-one unless you are a damage knight, and are also a much higher level then the other person as well.
That's looking like 800 mana drained each amissio, I'd say that's good, considering it is the.. hmm 0% apprentice skill?
Lash is the 0% gifted skill and is actually slightly worse for draining mana, sacrificing some mana drain for a bit of health restoration.
Succob is on a complete other playing field, so I won't comment.

You fail to see the point, when we are forced to drain so much no one with even half decent curing will die to it. There is tons of things to stop the draining which are easily accessable. In combat it is rare to get a wrack or absolve on a competant combatant because the varibles surrounding it. I posted it this way to show exactly how much can be drained in conjunction with a skill that increases your equilibrium considerably and still failed to hit half.

I have to say that even when he quickened / amissiod me in actual combat conditions and I didn't actually respond to it appropriately (I didn't shield), he still just *barely* got me to half mana, and I was out of it before he got eq back, much less when I was webbed.

Probably faster for Narsrim the Mugwump maybe, but I'm guessing it should be the same. Moondancers don't get the benefit of quicken either, though it's not like it's used much from what I can tell.

I don't fight Narsrim, I see him and I ghost, or run the old fashioned way. Regular moondancers seem able to lash at the same rate I can leech or amissio, and I'm a mugwump.

Lash isn't any faster than a normal move. That's just "grass-is-greener" syndrome. The thing we have over Guardians on mana drain is pooka force focus body, which can sometimes (since it's random) be pretty fast. Pixie and banshee are negligible but.

Lash drains 100 more mana per cast. The difference people note when they compare Wiccans to Guardians is likely NOT lash versus amissio/leech but rather lash + fae versus amissio/leech. The speed, however, is pretty much the same. Of course, once you consider quickening in cosmic... it gets complicated. Wiccans have more long term drain, Guardians have more initial drain with quickening.
It is also worth noting that Patchou hisses for an additional 400 mana drain here and there and as such, I drain more mana than the average Moondancer.

Alright, then please prove me wrong with detailed testing taking into account race/class/mana drain/protections/ect. Rather then just saying I am wrong.
Simply looking at -those- logs verses my own logs of draining 750mana with lash, it looks to me that the skill amissio drains slightly more then the skill lash.
And Torak's logs arn't very detailed either, as it's just numbers, I'm not even sure who the first person is he is testing with. Skills/defences that would effect mana drain on both sides are not listed either.

I don't think any skills effect the draining, it has a base number + percentage of total and that is all. Also if you read my first post it says against Lyco and Kharvik, the first one is against Kharvik.

Having an Angel that paralyzes/powersinks helps, but one-on-one, amissio and other mana drainers just plain suck.
