So I'm looking at the skills for both and am wondering which is better? What are the ups and downs of both sides. Can anyone help me?
Unknown2006-03-20 01:36:51
Don't forget there is also Axelord and Pureblade specializations now.
Narsrim2006-03-20 01:38:59
Gabreil,
It is difficult to say which is better as both are rather different in their approach. However, in my own personal bias opinion, the bottom line is that BM afflictions are usually more long term, but easier to handle. BC afflictions are usually more short term, but harder to handle.

Hmm...ok thank you both. I knew about the Axelord and Pureblade but I like using two swords.
Thanks again
Thanks again

Anyone have a list of the skills for Axelord and Pureblade and know anything about them? I mean how good are they in combat compaired to two swords and what not. Would really appreciate it.
Thanks,

They do well. Some people will argue they aren't as powerful, and I would agree they aren't as flexible, but their raw initial force is pretty hot.

Go BM and be a wounding knight. In a battle with someone of equal or lesser skill, no matter what, you'll always win, and sometimes in those with greater skill, because wounding adds up to a fairly shocking degree. Drago has had me at over 13000 when I was just letting him stab me.
(Chest wounds, and he still didnt' get a frigging heartpeirce)

I disagree. I don't know of a single BM anymore (maybe Terenas if he were still active) who could really pound away at me. BCs on the other hand... they get on my nerves - a lot. There is potential in both, but BM is certainly far from superior.

I remember fighting Kayde to a standstill when I'd first got back and before I got my 1337 skillz (hahaha) back, so it was as if I'd just gotten tossed into it. She's a Bonecrusher, and she couldn't do enough damage or wounds to drop me. Rakor managed it today via wounding and a bashbrains - but it took him a LOT longer with his afflictions (even stuff I didnt have cures for) than Navaryn did, and at the end of the one with Navaryn, even with health to heads, puers, etc, I still ended up with 8k odd wounding.

I seem to have more trouble with blademasters than bonecrushers, its all just personal though everyone deals with stuff differntly

Dunno, gotta agree with Narsrim here. BC seems to be better than BM although I may be having a "grass is greener" moment but whatever. I'd take stun/knockdown/prone/blackout and excellent afflictions to the head that can't be stoped when using power over pinleg/impales which can only be kept up for so long. Also I think it's a bit easier to keep someone in the room as a BC than as a BM.

Only if your a superspeed race.

That's partly because he has a lot more precision than me, partly because of his strength, partly because you can't parry and we can just wail away on your head with assault/crush and finish you off easily, and partly because he's better than me these days.
I remember when blademasters were absolutely terrible and didn't have skills like rend or heartpierce and the only bleeding damage they could do was minimal, and nothing to worry about. Of course, that was also when chervil wasn't on herb balance. They're much better now, but I would say bonecrushers are slightly better simply because they have a few easy ways to stun. Overall, stun helps more, especially for speed knights.

How effective is BreakJaw, by the way?

It's kinda stupid, just some negligible damage when you eat/drink, and it's a salve cure so you don't actually have to trip it at all to cure it.
Rakor2006-03-20 23:18:18
Yeah, breakjaw is one of the first afflictions you get as a bonecrusher and not very useful. You would even be fine even if you didn't heal it for a while, unless you spammed eating some herb.
Narsrim2006-03-20 23:29:09
However, facture skull and concussion >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any bm affllict.

Pureblade, and I assume Axelord as well, have an easier time to deliver wounding to the opponent than BM and BC. However, the wounds they can give (eg: CrackElbow, SliceArtery ,etc.), are fairly weak and useless (save for LegTendon and the Critical wounds). But then, you stance legs and parry head and I can't take you down. I can only do so many assaults. So, delivering wounding is all nice and well, but if you have nothing to work with, you won't go far. Decapitate just doesn't cut it.

I wish! Your damn dog can shut me down on its own with that attack that 'entangle' me. Stupid system only create spam when trying to writhe free and never actually set me free . And since I am clueless when it comes to coding, I have no idea how to fix that. Meh.
My thoughts on the whole thing.
Narsrim2006-03-20 23:34:48
As a Pureblade, Diamante hits me for a sliced tendon from no wounds 75% of the time.
Unknown2006-03-20 23:40:51
Now only if Axelords had something useful like legtendon.
