New affliction

Since my system appears to have been corrupted somehow, I'm in the process of rewriting a new one... and I noticed there are a couple of additions to HELP CURELIST

QUOTE(HELP CURELIST)

REISHI: (eat) pacified, aeon, peace, powersink, justice,
punctured aura
GALINGALE: (eat) addiction, generous, lover's curse, gluttony
COLTSFOOT: (smoke) impatient, lonely, shy, anorexia, masochist,
insomnia, void
PENNYROYAL: (eat) confused, dementia, hallucinate, paranoid,
stupidity, void

Now, as a dreamweaver I know what punctured aura is, but what does void refer to? Surely not the skill 'void' in dreamweaving, as it simply gives stupidity. Or is it really an old affliction and I'm missing something obvious?

Anyone able to help me out?
Mirk2006-03-22 08:04:10
to my knowledge, it's non-existent, along with some of the other afflictions there, although I couldn't name them off the top of my head
Narsrim2006-03-22 08:21:07
There is also a dissonance affliction listed. Nothing gives that.
Unknown2006-03-22 08:23:53
Yeah, but isn't this void new? I've never noticed it before, same with punctured aura.
Mirk2006-03-22 08:26:29
no, it's always been listed there, the only reason I know know why it doesn't exist was because I was bored and reading chelp curing (which actually had some humor in it)

and I'm pretty sure there's one or two more non-existent afflictions...
Unknown2006-03-22 08:27:32
Ah, ok.

Edit: Yeah, nothing gives rigormortis that I know of.
Yrael2006-03-22 08:35:24
Actually, I can invest it from Gorgulu, it randomly breaks limbs. It's pretty spiffy as an "oh sweet censor.gif what the hell gave that?" affliction.
Shamarah2006-03-22 11:53:17
Void = the dreamweaving skill, yes.

Erm, you're kidding? Has the affliction been changed to actually give void?
Narsrim2006-03-22 13:23:21
Contagion, Slaugh, and Gorgulu pact can give rigormortis.

I think it is a typo. I recall asking Hajamin once and he said that void wasn't the affliction but the name of the skill.
Shiri2006-03-22 13:47:27
Rigor mortis has always been around! I remember getting pwned by it as Shiri back in Southgard, I think Ialie had to go find Eldanien and then summon me so he could heal me or something. sad.gif sad.gif
Rauros2006-03-22 13:55:01
Rigor mortis is a b**** if you don't know how to cure it. Spamalicious central!

Void is a skill in Dreamweaving. It just gives stupidity, nothing more.

Edit: Doesn't quite match the AB file, but its close
QUOTE

Syntax: DREAMWEAVE VOID
You can create a void in the mind of another, causing him or her to occasionally 'blank out' and be
unable to perform an action.
Aiakon2006-03-22 16:44:30
void doesn't cause blackout? I though it did. Coo.
Xenthos2006-03-22 16:52:57
The AB would seem to suggest an affliction causing amnesia, not actually giving stupidity. Hm.
Shamarah2006-03-22 21:10:21
It's stupidity with no message. I remember going to the Megalith once and giving it to everyone there.

Oh, I'm not arguing that it actually gives stupidity.

I'm just saying that it seems to suggest an affliction giving amnesia instead. happy.gif

Well untill they try to do something, start yelling about how they love cheese so much, and then yell about how a dreamweaver is attacking them.

Then you'll have 4 violeters on you and you'll go splat. tongue.gif
Mirk2006-03-25 00:46:01
true, but not if you escape first...
but, then again, I don't have that particular skill yet... oh well
and odds are I won't be getting it for a while
