Okay, I just read a post saying something about the best race for a Celestine, period. And everyone took that a step further, and thought everyone was going for Tarot. Well, I'm not very good at fighting, so now I ask how about a race for Celestine HEALERS. Any answers?
Unknown2006-03-26 23:04:14
I take that to be defensive, so I think its Loboshigaru (or Taurian).

However, someone who knows what they are talking about should correct me.
Ashteru2006-03-26 23:08:00
Doesn't it have a bit of a willpower drain? So I'd say high intelligence races like Merians, not sure though.
Unknown2006-03-26 23:09:58
Well, I'm a Trill, and with the good Int, I'm doing alright, plus, Puella.
Xavius2006-03-26 23:49:43
Your stats need to be all over the place: high health, high ego, high int.

Health affects your ability to heal other people, since the health you restore comes out of your own health.

Ego affects your ability to restore your own health.

As far as afflictions go, this may be reversed: I believe it's 500 ego to remove an affliction from someone else and 500 int to cure your own affliction, but I'm not quite sure. I haven't had healing since I learned how horribly it sucked (open beta).

So, for racial suggestions...

Merian is probably your best bet, since puella can compensate for some of your lack of health. Elfen or trill may be decent. Dracnari would be solid for a healer dedicated to staying out of harm's way with farheal while the real fighters go to work.

Faeling, high int, high ego, low health but a great sip bonus to compensate ?

Imperial merian has higher mana, identical ego, slightly higher health, and faster eq. Balance has no place in a healer Celestine's skills.

So... reincarnate into Merian?
Xavius2006-03-27 00:21:55
Merian if you're going to go front lines, dracnari if you're going to lag behind.
Unknown2006-03-27 00:24:07
Hmm... maybe Lag behind is what I'll do...

Actualy... no... Merian will be better.

Faeling has identical ego, slightly lower mana and health, but the sip bonus makes them far more tanky with either ego mana or health, its a decent option.

Of course furrikin are an allround goodness race for most classes as well tongue.gif

ehh... I don't know.

I think Merians are a good choice for a Celest citizen, period.

If you are not into PK and stuff like that is the best choice.. Imperian Merians are quite good and Merian Lords are quite decent...

Some of it takes endurance, oddly enough.

I'd say Furrikin, myself. Heal me consumes insane ego (two casts, will drop you to 0 ego) if damaged. Furrikin can run easily, writhe fast, and have free tumble.

In fact, I'm just a firm believer that for a non-strength class, Furrik in is "best buy" race.

If they haven't changed it, amount you heal (and corresponding ego lost) depends on how skilled you are at healing.
Simimi2006-03-27 17:34:45
I was Healer at one point, and am Dracnari, it really isn't so bad, especially once you get your skills, such as halo and numen, you'll be fine on the front lines healing, but you'll be the first to go down too.

Healer with trans Celestialism is ok for assisting in battle, especially if your fast on the healing.

I actually like healing, mostly for utility things, and easy cures while hunting that normally take up potions.

Deephealing cures much much more then a mending application, though that takes up 5 seconds of eq, so it’s got a upside and a downside.

Edit:Oh, and you should know if you want to be a healer but not be on the front lines, you'll need Farheal, which is 33% Virtuoso(about 700 lessons into the skillset). Otherwise you can only heal/cure those in the same room as you.
Simimi2006-03-27 17:53:20
Ya I kind of missed healing once I forgot it, but then I got catacombs tarot and healing just kind of ... vanished from existance.

Well, Deepheal is insane. It fully cures an entire limb. I'd be immune to warriors, even Murphy, with it wink.gif

true Deepheal makes it very nice, I think if farheal was given its own balance (like laetitia) slightly faster than it is now, you would see armies of healers suddenly....Imagine wars where it is like...Daevos and his 7 healers vs Amaru and his 7 healers or something...some new hybrid healer + supertank warfare...
