Okay, I am going to switch to Warrior pretty soon, and now I gots a question.

So if I switch, I'll go from from the transskills and one halfway fabled to around 2 and a half if I am lucky, since I am going to keep Crow for now. Now, I initally considered switching to Night as soon as I got 32 credits to do that, but I'd still be pretty low in Athletics, around gifted. So now my question would be, should I give up trans Crow/Night in favour of trans Athletics?

I am going to get credits in about two months, end of May, and I am a pretty good basher, so it would be just for a, well, relatively short period of time. But still, is Highlevel-warrior-bashing viable without surge?

It depends on what race you choose. If you go with a moderately high constitution race that isn't god awfully slow (dwarf is a nice medium), I think you'd be fine without surge.

As for Night, trans Night will give you Nightkiss. With a high intelligence race, you may find this easier to bash with until you start getting mad criticals. However, without surge, it will be more tricky.

Well, I got a cameo, so fortunately race won't affect me as much. I thought about bashing as a human, actually, since the expbonus achieveable seems pretty nice. (~25% alone from Harmoney blessing and the level 2 advantage) I do like to think that I can bash up gold pretty fast, I went from adept discipline to fabled in about five days of pure bashing, with breaks for school and all, so I guess I could rack up some credits, but...I am just a bit unsure about how warrior bashing will be.
I will be PRETTY disappointed if I couldn't tank one linked mob on Astral, but I guess I'd have to live with it...*sigh*

As well you should. The warrior is the single most fun class to fight as and be. I should know - ive had a fighter as all of em (archetypes at least - not guild).

Surge while bashing is basically just a health vial saver, unless your on astral/catacombs.

So you won't be hurt by not having surge, I rarely use it as a human.

Don't get trans athletics untill you have nothing better to get.

With cameo you will be fine without surge.

Try those races: Loboshi, Krokani, Orclach, Igasho and your loved Tae'dae. Those dont need surge so bad. you should be ok wichout surge.

YOu don't need trans athletics to get surge. Its either 0% myth or 50% myth.

puissance is the single lamest trans skill that i can think of, so dont worry about transing atheltics.

I'd suggest you get surge- it's a great asset.

Best non surge basher is an orclach with its lvl3 regen for putrefaction, or just plain health.

I was in credibly tanky as an orclach except to fire which wasn't fun.

Anyway that's my opinion, orclach are pretty damn good for bashing. Or just go human and bash less things for more xp.

Actually Murph - Igasho/Tae'Dae are a lot better for bashing than Orclach. Sure you kill slightly slower but you have less trouble too. Orclach is pretty damned good when you have putrefaction though I must admit.

i say orclach because with a regen enchantment you cover the drain when you're unsurged, and its better than loboshigaru because of resistances to cutting and blunt.

Any ways, since he isn't ur'guard the point is moot. Igasho/Orclach/Tae'Dae would be pretty damned nice while bashing as an ebonguard without nightkiss, with it you could add Lobo/Human/Aslaran (with surge) to the list.

If you are just bashing Gorgogs, you only need surge if you intend to bash as a faeling/furrikin, if you are a tankier race you don't need surge at all.
