I am pleased to announce that Murphster 2.0 will be available after tommorow (Sunday 2nd april) to the Lusternian public.

I have spent the last RL 2 weeks recoding Thorgal's system, still using his superior base mechanics, and combining it with my superior knighthood wound tracking, curing parry and stance, and generally improving it in all aspects of fighting, listed below are some of the enhancements.

- Curing efficiency is greater than ever before, as opposed to curing all pipe based afflictions first the queing priority based on the herb type, the system will now recognise the most dangerous and hindering afflictions first and cure them in order.

-Several system stopping bugs and illusions have been ironed out, to name a few the clotting spam bug, getting unstunned or the stun illusion, and various other loops and misfiring of triggers have been taken care of.

- Parrying and stancing is now based off how badly a limb is wounded, and also how based on where they have been hitting. If you aren't very wounded it will make it difficult for a knight to get opening hits on you in quick succession without the use of crush, and it will protect limbs that are badly wounded until they are healed. Parry and stance are the best they've ever been in this system.

- New levels of wound curing and percentages of health have been implemented to keep you alive longer.

-Writhing updated to summer or tipheret if you have the balance or eq for it, and the system now recognises automatically if you use highmagic or lowmagic via the AB list.

-Echoes, and plenty of them. A lot of them are for bonecrushers, but there are a lot more for instakills and other things that you need to be alerted to in combat.

-Interface updated to display excatly how badly your limbs are hurt, and a couple of little picture bugs have been fixed up.

-Transfix and 6thsense curing. Fixed a lot of issues there, you will no longer get transfixed or looped on myrtle or faeleaf, and it will ensure you have 6thsense up if, especially if someone is using a gem of transfixing. Thanks to Narsrim for the testing on this one, needless to say it was tested beyond wits end.

-Sap curing improved and messages such as stagstomp are now included, however in some cases you just can't escape a druid sap combo.

-Arnica and Mending also changed to complement each other in terms of healing fractureskull and other forms of head afflictions.

-Organisation highlighting: Colour names of enemy combatants to red, friendlies to blue and there is a green function too for those who like a bit of variety.

-Increased frequency of scanning, it will scan for afflictions much more often, it doesn't slow computers down noticbly unless you're running a hand-me-down laptop you salvaged from the Arc.

There are a few mechanics changes i've made behind the scenes to help things along somewhat as well as nameless other little tweaks and bugfixes i've done.

Also is immune to some illusions. Field tested with me.

As i've got almost a whole day until it'll be ready and available, i'd like anyone with suggestions on what irked them about the last one, to come forward and suggest any changes they'd like to see, or any bugs/error that I may have missed.

Two main problems that I have.. Reishi (none of the reishi cures work) and this odd meditation loop if you force yourself to stop meditating before your 'fully healed'. Also, there are some wierd places where it sips allheale when it doens't need to. (especially reishi cures, and it doesn't cure blackout)

Also, it spams me to death if I run out of mana or health or anything else which is annoying.

Oh, and respond to my messages sad.gif
Murphy2006-04-02 05:02:56
the reishi cures now work properly to my knowledge, and i'll look into spamming if you run out of cures (youshould never run out of cures though)
Daganev2006-04-02 06:11:11
easier said then done when you log out with less than full mana and then all your vials decay... Gah that was annoying!
Murphy2006-04-02 06:24:40
keep a check on them, but you can also turn triggers off and go refill your stuff
Athana2006-04-02 08:41:39
It didn't cure being impaled last time I used it
Ashteru2006-04-02 08:43:16
The odd standing up loop when both legs are broken is a bit annoying.

Gosh yes, it's always embarassing when two other people in the room are hitting each other while you're watching and you just start sipping for no reason

I also found that the system doesn't cure during blackout (paralysis for example) and just waits until the blackout is over to start...that can be kind of bad in many situations

I know I found it bloody annoying that the system didn't automate my fight for me, i mean we forked out good money for this, we should only have to type the persons name in and have it kick there ass amirite?

umm no.. systems should only keep you alive forever, not let you kill the other person. This way you have infinite time to figure out how to kill them or untill they get lag or you have to leave.

Does it still have the nifty potionlist?
Anisu2006-04-02 10:59:39
will parry be easy to turn off with a toggle? Or will I have to make two versions for different characters like with Thorgal's?
Murphy2006-04-02 12:16:27
due to popular demand parry will come with an option to be turned off or on at will

oh yeh daganev? There is no system possible that will keep you alive indefinitley against anyone who is pretty good.

Offence always overwhelms curing if you let them have at you for long enough.

Any more suggestions while i currently polish up the system newbie help files and some auto-initialise things?

I think he wants you to code a panic button that has an automatic: oh censor.gif my wounds are too low, run around while I heal thing
