Well, this is a curious oddity, but apparently wounding is dependent on your maximum health. (Not constitution, health.)

When Aerenna and I were testing such that I had no defenses and armour, using the same weapon she consistently achieved the following wounds against me:

3322 health - 891 wounds

3058 health - 885 wounds

3020 health - 884 wounds

I wonder if the difference between surged/nonsurged means a few hundred wounds or more?

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great way of dealing with excessively tanky people... wounds are more of a problem for them than others. I just found it interesting enough to post.

Additionally, when you hit rebounding... it is the wounds you would do to your opponent that you receive, not those based on your own health level (or armour, whatever).

Those numbers are so similar it looks like it could just be a margin of error. Were you getting those same exact numbers repeatedly?

Interesting. I'm not sure it's quite fair (though I'm unsure that size of a difference really matters very much), but it does address some issues with tankier folk. Of course, they can afford to apply more often then less tanky people, so I'd guess it probably more than evens out.

Aye. The amount of wounding you do is not random, apparently.

isn't that how its always been?

That it depends on health? Maybe... I just thought it was unexpected.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted if everyone already knew - I thought it might be important to the warrior who can change health drastically.
Daganev2006-04-04 17:22:01
Well I do know that most people did not believe me when I told them that, which is why I was asking.

How much damage you take is also dependant on your current health and wounds.
Sylphas2006-04-04 21:11:36
It's dependent on WOUNDS too? O_O So I can either sip off the damage, and begin taking more and more because I'm not applying, or apply, heal a small fraction of my wounds, and give up sipping? Wow, and I thought it was a lose-lose situation before.
Daganev2006-04-04 21:27:46
yeah, I'm sorry but I don't think the 20hp difference is going to be the factor that kills anyone. Its always been true that you have to do both to stay alive.

No, it's not, since you can't. You have to overwhelm your opponent so he's not hitting you, or run, to stay alive There's very little middle ground for most non-warriors. And yeah, 20hp isn't going to change much, but it's still annoying.
Shiri2006-04-06 13:29:04
I wouldn't call this worth considering really, 20hp isn't going to make any real difference.
