Ok im thinking about going from warrior with trans knighthood and moon with 51% mythical athletics to something like mage or druid. I was wonder how many credits would i need to get to such a level again and how much would I lose cause 100 credits wouldnt worry me much but more then that would be pushing it.
Ashteru2006-04-04 04:25:08
Well, since I just switched from Trans Druidry/Alchemy and Mythical Dreamweaving, I guess I can give an approx. adivce. Just half your transskills and you get what you'll keep. I'll be able to trans BC, and I'll be like Gifted/Expert Athletics when I get out of noviehood. No forging at all.
Everiine2006-04-04 04:43:32
Even if you lose your skills, you can buy credits ingame as well if you perform enough comm quests/hard quests to give you enough gold. It is possible to trans everything back up.

If you were tritrans, you would be better off going trans knighthood, rest in athletics, buy 100 credits and reincarnate into a tanky (preferably the ones that get the bonus for their racial weapon) race, and then just bash stuff like gorgogs on prime and quest till you get the cash to drop more credits on your char.

I didn't say it's hard to retrans skills now, did I? (Except if they nerf golddrops from mobs on prime too... ))

Cut in half . So ill be able to trans druidry but ill be out of luck on everything else. That will suck makes it not even worth it.
Vix2006-04-05 22:53:11
Actually, no. Since Athletics/Knighthood is in... Body? you can't switch the lessons there to stuff like Arcana or Spirit. At least, that's what it was for me way back when on my alt. There's a complicated thing with lesson pools and stuff. HELP LESSONPOOLS in game ought to explain it in a confusing way unless they've changed it.
Sylphas2006-04-06 01:43:43
It's not confusing really. You lose 20% forgetting, and 20% if you have to kick your lessons up to the base pools. After that you can transfer back down the tree without loss. Of course, I've forgotten and relearned 10+ skills and changed guild twice, so maybe it's just me.
Unknown2006-04-06 02:09:38
Wouldn't I lose more the 20% since im forgetting axelord and knighthood? Also since im really considering Aquamancer im thinking im going to need weaponparry so since im at shieldparry already how much would I need to get it?
Asarnil2006-04-06 02:19:34
If you were going moondancer, you would be able to get decent Wicca and keep your trans moon, so yo would have decent bashing there. The real killer for you is the switch to stag, which actually isn't too bad since you don't need to forget ALL your skills, just knighthood/athletics and moon (the moon I think you only lose the 20% if you keep it in the same lessonpools so you should be good to get highish in stag if thats your thing). I am a bit shaky on the lessonpools in regards to nature and the other druid stuff, so don't take my word as gospel.
Ekard2006-04-06 07:19:32
Bah, nevermind.
Murphy2006-04-06 07:24:54
i'm thinking of going mage too, but only if we get some nice envoy changes to them
Ashteru2006-04-06 07:47:53
Switching from Crow to Night, I went through 209 lessons and ~15 credits with the bound lessons.
Unknown2006-04-06 22:18:01
From my calculations im going to only have 769 lessons from trans knighthood to put in aquamancy. If i do that then im never getting back to the level of skills that i had before. Someone please tell me that im wrong and ill have more then that.
Ashteru2006-04-06 22:29:21
You lose 20% from forgetting initally. Then you lose another 30% for transfering from this pool to parent pool. You can move between the pools without loss. So, when I forgot trans crow, I was at 1249 or so lessons. If I had moved to parent pool, I'd have been at 875 lessons or so. Yeah, you could be right.
Unknown2006-04-06 22:44:09
If i forget athletics since my skills is in the fitness pool do I have to switch to melee just to learn some combat or can i do it without any extra loss?
Ashteru2006-04-06 22:45:59
You could learn Resilience from it. Since Athletics is in Fitness, you'd have to transfer it to a siblingpool, which is further 20% loss instead of 30% from child to parentpool.
My tip: Try becoming Champ of Serenguard.

I would try for guild champ if i can get some guild rank, or beat diamante at least once. Well thanks for all the help if i switch i know im not going to be no where as good as I am now, even if i spent time on it. Maybe if I go druid i can do something but being a hartstone doesnt appeal to me, maybe blacktalon but it would be 4 ic years later before i enter glom.

ooh! excitement. You can teach Aiakon how to fight (= write him a nice customised system and then not charge)
