Does anyone know the formula for calculating the damage done by various weapons depending on strength? I'd also like a formula for calculating damage resistance, and maybe even the damage type of weapons?
Thanks.
Thanks.

There isnt such formula.
But damage is based on your str and weapon damage.
Wounds are based on your str and precision of your weapon.

There's no formula to figure up how much damage is done depending on strength? There is in Achaea.
Oh well, I'll just assume I'll do decent damage with broadswords and 18 strength.

You should be ok. Most likely it wont be enought to kill top fighters but you should be ok with most.
Get comms and i will get you broads with nice stats.

Damage isn't reliable enough - there are too many defences against damage. Case in point: I will never kill Narsrim with damage; my 200 damage broadswords with lightning/fire runes do roughly 200 damage each to him. 200.
You'll also do good wounding at 18 str too - don't be afraid to use it.

Oh, I'm sure I'll do alright damage with 18 strength, not against those people with 36 defences, and every artifact ( Are there people like that here? In Achaea they are everywhere), but I should do good for now. It's just nice to know the base damage I'd do.
For example, in Achaea, as a mage with firelash, I could calculate the damage I did with a simple formula.
with an intelligence of 18 and level of 52, it was
(12.5*)+(4* )
or
(12.5 * 18) + (4 * 52)
for about 425 damage, then 10% per level of fire resistance, so we get something like
(12.5 * 18) + (4 * 52) + ((12.5 * 18) + (4 * 52) * (10% for each level, up to 30%)
so, with a resistance of 3, you'd do an aditional 30% damage.
please note that, as a grook, I did not have the additional 30%, but I did recieve an additional 30% when fighting dragons and xorans with firelash. And I think I took an extra 60% damage from dragon firelash, because it about killed me in one hit (had it induced bleeding, I'd have died.)

and, eh, is there a way to get people out of the skies when they fly away mid-battle?

Get a geyser enchantment.
Or Hexagram in High Magic.. I can't remember what its low magic equivalent is.

There is a forumal for pretty much everything, with variable parts in the forumal in some cases, but just because there is one dosn't mean people know it.

There isnt one, lots of little difference like that between the skills.

So, no one has ever wanted to know the formulas? Hrm...I'd like to do some testing on that. I'll never get around to it, but someone should. If anyone Is interested, could I possibly get some fighters around the same level but different races? If interested, and yer a warrior, could you post, and maybe we could arrange a game time to meet.
