The title just about says it all...I was testing some of my healing with an astrologer earlier, trying to capture triggers specific to me so that I could recognize afflictions and heal them without having to diagnose. It's especially annoying when afflicted with stupidity since I have to diagnose before I recognize it. Is there any way to track astrology afflictions, or to tell the difference between planet rays and the signs?

Well you could work out how you are affected by a planets ray as that will always be the same.

Though signs are a different matter so i don't know. Spheres are of course permanent unless you get an opposing one cast on you

I just assume the worst possible scenario and attempt to cure from there. For example, Aapek can give anorexia, aeon, or pox. I sip quicksilver and attempt to cure aeon when it hits. If aeon isn't there, but I get the anorexia message, I cure it based on that secondary message. Pox has its own secondary message too, which I cured on.

Sidaak or whatever gives stupidity so I always try to cure stupidity on it. I'm not sure what else it gives, but I don't think its anything too nasty.

I use pennyroyal on Moon as it cures most of the afflictions there... and so on and so forth with some diagnosing in the middle to catch junk I miss.

If you really wanted to I think you can actually tell what effects you are being hit with.

The only problem with this is sometimes other things look the same. Earlier this month, Reisa was switching between Sidiak ray (stupidity) and burning sensor (confusion), and both looked exactly the same from my end. I suppose it doesn't matter in this case since both are cured the same way, but could be a pain with other afflictions.

It can't really, the only one it would make a huge difference for is tarox, and you don't really need to be afraid of ignite/chills/asthma.

Astrology is really easy to deal with. Like Narsrim said, you see aapek, just sip quicksilver, you see sidiak, focus mind/eat pennyroyal, do the same for moon. Then you can pretty much ignore all the rest of the planets because they are either harmless, or give specific secondary message which you can use to cure. You can diagnose yourself once in a while to clear them if you like.

Spheres are a bit different and can only be cured by another astrologer so there isn't much you can do. They are annoying, not very harmful, but also very random. I used to use them in 1 vs 1 combat. I think they help, a little, but not effective enough to turn the tide of battle, most of the time.
