Im pretty sure im making a switch to druid/mage class and im defiantly going with dreamweaving being one of the coolest skills ive seen. Now with that I have only 2 guild options Hartstone and Aquamancers and im having trouble choosing between the 2. Any mind comparing the offensive differences between the two stradegy wise and how effective each guild is cause by the looks of it druid skills seem better because of sap.

Also since I was a warrior once being very tanky anyone know what im getting myself into since Im going into a class where im a soft target?

Druids are definately better with dreamweaving, hands down. Narcolepsy + Epilepsy + Sap = insane.

It's just a very different approach.

Aquamancers kill through damage, and have a staff that does a decent amount of it. Your offense centers around ways to get your opponent to stop curing and stand still while you give him an icy enema.

Hartstone kill through "damage," but were given cudgel to work with. Sap is the wonderfully overpowered way to pull it off. It sits quite firmly as one of the most powerful offensive skills in the game, but you have to approach the change understanding that sap is the only way you're going to kill anyone of any decent skill. Your offense will center around new and creative ways to get sap to stick long enough for the bleeding to add up.

I wasnt really sure but are there a wide range of afflictions in the dreamweaving skillset cause on my alt Ive only reached about 8 skills. Im inching toward aquamancer at the moment since I would rather rely on straight damage.

Anyone know if stun takes you out of sleep?

It does because the jellyfish cause a small amount of damage.

Telekenits seem the best mages for general all around good ness, the forcefield for bashing, daggers are great for combat and with heartburst you have another option to kill people than just straight damage. They just generally seem to have the best options compared to other speced mages.

Telekinesis is awesome for fighting outside your demesne. As a Druid, you'd be a lot more demesne-dependant (and sap-dependant). As an Aqua, you can use daggers + staff, or you can heartburst, neither of which is going to need a demesne to work (although they're certainly easier with the help of one).

He said he was going dreamweaving...

Well, if you're joining a guild for skills mainly, might want to wait for envoys to finish (eventually). Would be horrible to join one guild and watch hopelessly as the other received a major upgrade. wink.gif

the afflictions I know of are: sleeping (duh?), stupidity (via void, which is masked and can only be done in dreambody, but is also fairly high up in the skill), haunt can do random mental afflictions (apparently, it can do two at a time, but seems to only do three afflictions...), narcolepsy, you can pacify them (they can't do anything aggressive), daydreaming (lose either eq or balance), epilepsy (does the thing daydreaming doesnt), you can give someone amnesia, and you can puncture their auras (making them vulernable to motes when awake). Other than that, I don't know of any other afflictions, unless you count making them sleepier...

and apparently we can give blackout...
plus their's the ability of illusions and not falling asleep when you don't want to
