We should have a tea making skill... Perhaps as part of the Herbal skill. Drinking a tea would have the same effect as that of drinking a potion, but for a longer period of time - making teas expensive and sought after!
Just a little idea.

Psh, what kind of an idea is it if we can't reply to it? Can't we already make tea? If anything, it would be in cooking under drinks.
Drago2006-04-13 02:10:21
I thought it'd be under brews..
Arix2006-04-13 04:03:12
Let me answer this one: Yes, one could theoretically make a brew out of herbs and call it tea, but 1) it would have no healing properties, 2) it would be alcoholic, and 3) I am already working on creating a category for non-alcoholic drinks, and have answered this particular question more than once.
Acrune2006-04-13 04:37:38
I could see it now. *Stab stab stab impale* *pause to sip tea* ahhhhhh *stab slash slit* Would be like British combat!
Anyway, a lot of people seem to want tea, but apparently everything you could possibly want to drink in Lusternia is alcoholic. Acrune doesn't drink alcohol (its for the weak of mind and body, after all ), so he just goes without liquid except for what he gets while swimming. (Lake of dreams is tasty)

Acrune is actually a dream leech in disguise. Collvan still can't get into his office because of the nightmares that piled up.

Well, I think we need (green) tea-making to compliment rice-making.
Penelope2006-04-13 06:27:38
Let me quote this one and only line from AB COOKING...
Brews* Brew teas and other beverages, including ales.
I've asked a few times for a tea recipe on trademasters, ideas and a message to the Charites but it probably won't happen.

What is wrong with alcoholic tea? It's real in real life.
ferlas2006-04-13 10:17:10
Are there no such thing as non alcholic teas?

I geuss I should have quoted, that was in response to Penelope, who said she made a tea recipe, but doesn't think it'll go through, not in response to Arix.
For those who don't know, there currentally is no tea. Alcholic or otherwise.

Has anyone actually gotten drunk on a brew? I can put down a bottle of the stuff and not even get flushed.
Hazar2006-04-18 01:01:52
After straight chugging an ale on a lvl. 1 viscanti novice, I was slightly flushed.
Athana2006-04-18 02:26:03
I have a question that's not really about tea but since there is a pattern for beer would it be possible to make root beer?
Penelope2006-04-18 05:27:45
Charites made a post to the Trademaster board recently that non-alcoholic beverages such as tea would require separate coding and are planned in the future after all the other tough work is finishes. I'm sorry, but I'm all for Rapture coding they're updating, Envoys, etc over new patterns and recipes for trade skills. I'm patient and can amuse myself with crazy whiskey flavours while I wait for my precious tea.

Might I suggest www.achaea.com 23? I hear it's all the rage amongst your kind.

Eagerly did I submit the perfect recipe for a delicious glass of freshingly cooled sweet tea, compiled from years of experience in discovering the perfect blend of sugar, tea, and brewing times, only to have my spirit broken and crushed.
My beloved sweet tea!
Ok, maybe it isn't quite that bad.

Ah, yes.. they need sweet tea. I would kick back in my manse and drink tea all the time.. I'd like mixed drinks too. Carrot juice cocktails and such, but that will never happen, so bleh.

It's a cupil
(actually, I don't really know what it is, but it sure looks kind of like cupil from skies of arcadia...)
