I was wondering if anybody could give me advice on what skills I should look at next for Tully. Keep in mind Tully is not a guild and never had guild-skills. Are there any skills that would be helpful for say (a) bashing things like Rockeaters or (cool.gif surviving in an arena situation or surviving enough to run away if being attacked, or © anything else useful.

Here are my current skills.

Combat = Apprentice
Resilience = Apprentice
Discernment = Mythical
Magic = Capable
Planar = Transcendent
Discipline = Gifted
Environment = Transcendent
Influence = Expert
Riding = Apprentice
Arts = Mythical
Lowmagic = Transcendent
Aethercraft = Master
Bookbinding = Transcendent

I'd say, grab some more resilience.
And probably some more combat. How on earth do you hurt people/things.. currently?

Who attacks Tully anyway? huh.gif
Shamarah2006-04-15 10:54:20
Yeah, what are you using? Newbie kick?
Unknown2006-04-15 11:08:49
Well, I don't usually bash--I've done rat hunting and the occasional weevil, but I found other beings a bit too powerful. I usually gain experience either by doing Pilgrims and Scholars, or I use charm-related influence on villagers--that's how I really got to level 33, and it fits my RP.

Newbie Kick? Heh, I'm not that boneheaded. I have a Rapier, and for an occasional arena fight I will use that and envenom the blade, along with enchantments on rings for things like Web. Still, remember I'm a dwarf and my balance apparently stinks.

I have shocked some novices--one celestian novice was so amazed that he was able to dodge my attacks, with his might being much lower than my own.

Anyway, I was just wondering what could be the highest priority--since I have a very limited credit budget this year and won't be able to spend a lot of money. I figured Discipline would be helpful.

I wish someday they'd allow people without guild skills to take up an extra trade or two.

I guess that's kinda fair enough. After all, Tully is just a more special denizen. Hundreds like him sweep the streets of Magnagora, but Tully was selected by the Fates for Greatness. It makes sense that a celestian novice could take him out with a crushing critical tongue.gif

Never underestimate the value of Riding. ninja.gif

Resilience will help with bashing, and in combat, by reducing damage and letting you shrug some afflictions. Discipline wouldn't be bad for the faster focus time, and focus mind if you learn that high.

I would say riding, Tully needs an animal to assist him in his garbage cleanup.
Aiakon2006-04-15 16:43:36
so long as it doesn't dung the clean floors behind him.

Riding, then save up for a special ridable Pet of some sort that could indeed assist in the cleaning of streets. A Steel Goat from Astral, specially tamed and raised to eat refuse off the streets without leaving anything behind.

I would get rid of your rapier and get some sort of shortsword, as they are made for newbies and don't require knighthood to have the same accuracy/damage.
Asarnil2006-04-16 05:26:43
Daganev, accuracy is the same now anyways no matter what weapon you use - unless yer using yer racial one.

Personally, I would say trans influence. At least until the third begging skill, that way you can "bash" decent stuff in-between cleaning up everything.

I second this.

You should threaten to go on strike unless the people of Magnagora buy you credits
