So... I am a trans jeweler again. I have noticed some of the commodities for items have drastically changed in a relatively short period. Wtf happened? The brooches I'm wearing I made as a jeweler are now 7x more expensive (no joke, they require 7x the amount of commodities now). I have even found brooches that now take more metal to make than swords... I found a circlet with more commodities (metals) than a suit of armour.
What happened?
What happened?

yeah, yrael. you wouldn't dare play the same joke here than what you did to me in irc.
since its sort of related, i have a question on the trans jewerly skill. Is it EQ or balanced based? Also, whats the difference between it and say, hangedman?

Transfix=no attack until you writhe, and you can't writhe from transfix untill you regain balance, whereas with regular web/hangedman you can start writhing before you regain balance from your last attack. (as well as the fact you cant use summer/tipheret on transifx)

Round like a record baby.
Edit: Don't put that kind of crap on the forums. On a side note, wasn't I the one that showed you that? *snigger* -Richter

Transfix gem works on all non-blind personal enemies in the room (thirdeye doesn't count as non-blind, and it doesn't strip thirdeye).
Narsrim2006-04-19 09:42:01
The fascinate gem transfixes all personal enemies that are not blind. Sixth sense (I have no idea where third eye came into this as it has nothing to do with blindness) DOES block it.
Of course, being hit with something that gives blindness, deafness, or sensitivity (which strips deafness) makes it annoying as you have to constantly keep it up.
The gem uses equilibrium and the writhe time for transfix is greater than web or hangedman. Furthermore, transfix has a constant writhe time. It is not modified by size.

To answer your question about Brooches:

From: The Charites, the Administrators of Crafts

Subj: brooches
Due to the current nature of brooches, We will soon be requiring a
massive price increase to create these items - this will include
retroactively, though We will record the original price listed within
the designs for later. As of this post, all brooches will cost upwards
of 150+ commodities, until such a time that the problem with there being
no limit to the amount able to be worn is fixed.

Obviously it is -not- a bug as they opted to allow it and just made them more expensive.

Doesn't sound like what they said in their post.

Why would they just not make it to where you can only wear X brooches and keep them cheap?
Rauros2006-04-19 11:26:51
I was beginning to fear for the sanity of the game when brooches started coming out. 40 charge items with no limit to how many you could wear? Come on. Noone saw a problem with this?
Anyway, enjoy the ones you have. I dearly hope those brooches don't melt down into the crap load of comms they require now. That would prove a HEFTY profit for some people.......

Maybe they have to check first if people have attached runes to them and are wearing them all?

Given cubes, what's the problem? A ring is now as potent as a crown if you have your own cube.
====
And they DO melt down into the mass comms. Although I don't see the potential for hefty profit because people want to buy brooches anymore -not- wands, crowns, etc.

They do.
I talked with Hajamin several months ago about brooches in general. He said that at some indefinate future point in time brooches would be limited in number able to be worn, though if I remember correctly he wasn't sure one way or the other if it was intended or not to wear a boat-load.
