After Turgeis was hunted down by two Avatars from Ferlas, he can do nothing but be forced to be peaced for a long while. sad.gif

I created an alt, his roleplay is to be a wandering Influencer, he fights his enemies not by swords but by words.

Here are the list of advantage and disadvantage for this type...

Advantages:
-You can empower or weaken the denizens in the Newton Caverns and get experience if you win
-You can paranoid the key citizens there (I remembered someone being pissed at my other alt because I keep Bolt and Mother Mucka paranoid thus preventing them to cash in the corpses)
-You won't be able to need a lot of gold for this character, just vials of bromides and a few set of clothes and that's it
-be able to sell imbued items

Disadvantages:
-You don't have a guild or city to live in
-It will be a bit hard to influence once you're booted out from the Caverns
-You can't kill most of the creatures for gold (so good bye krokani and gorgogs)

Well, that's all I can think about this, if you guys got any other questions or comments about this, feel free to post them here happy.gif

I think you could pull it off. You don't need power for influencing, and you should be able to keep your karma high enough for the beuty blessings, and eventually buy yourself a throne.

You might want to get a basic class to start with, even if you don't pursue it very far - some guild skills can be quite a help to influencing. I'm thinking particularly of that ability low in Rituals that increases your charisma.

I agree with Daganev though. You should definitely be able to do it. It will be harder without the support of a guild and commune, and likely a lot more lonely... but if you really want to, it should be possible. smile.gif

Highmagic too, so you'd have +2 Charisma as basic buffs.
Daganev2006-05-16 16:39:43
The problem with being part of a guild, is that you are likely to be dissallowed in many villages, and I think to advance nicely as an influencer, you need access to those villages.
Unknown2006-05-16 16:42:16
Well, I meant join a guild to get the basic class, learn a few utility abilities, and leave.
Exarius2006-05-16 17:41:04
I think the real problem with being a rogue influencer is that most rogues hate to be influenced.

true, that's why this character of mine won't join in any city/commune, he may have friends with them but won't join them tongue.gif

It should be very possible to do it... but it'd get pretty boring I think. I had a paladin alt for a bit that was super pacifist, so I could play with him at school without triggers (looking back, paladin was probably a weird choice for that), the only thing I killed with it was the shadow in the intro tour. I got him up to the upper 30's in level before I got bored by lack of combat, and I just find actually killing the things to be more fun (and better gold). Add the lack of city and guild, and to me it sounds like you'd be in for a pretty boring time.

true, though I can manage it
Ashteru2006-05-16 19:43:15
Actually, there's a pretty cool guy out there. Morth, some Tae'dae. Really cute to talk to. happy.gif
guild/cityless influencer.

It is quite easy to be an influencer in Lusternia. I have an alt that I got to L60ish just on quests and influencing, and Nawat followed my formula (well kinda) to be quite nasty when it comes to village revolts. Personally though I would suggest you join a city just so your alt can have some fun during the peaced village revolts besides debating random people. The only real problem with making an influencing specific character is that you will find that after about L65 (especially if you choose a high charisma race) everything is just pure grinding - nothing you influence will have a chance of taking you down and in a lot of cases you will barely need to sip during an influence.

Not to mention the whole "wandering off in the middle of being influenced" thing which is bloody annoying as well as the fact that there is only one really decent area to influence past L50 and only one influencing style that is worth using if you want to level.

Nothing would be cooler than to be the first Influencer Demigod

Hmm...

question is.. Tae'dae or Human..

The highest possible charismas for..
Guildless Tae'dae is 22
Guildless Human is 19 (since we don't know what happens to a guildless human's stats)

Result is that the Tae'dae would be a slightly faster influencer, and have to spend less gold on bromides, whereas the Human would gain experience faster. Question is whether the slightly faster influencing of the Tae'dae could ever overcome the experience bonus of the Human? Noting that the faster gold production of the Tae'dae would allow for the Manse/throne needed for the extra charisma to be gained faster than for the Human, which further ups the speed influencing speed of the Tae'dae over the Human.

1. Go Faeling or Tae'dae. I suggest Tae'dae, even though their charisma is one point lower they have an extra level of sip bonus and are overall more badass.

2. Start as a Celestine or a Nihilist and complete novicehood so you can grab Populus and Netzach, which will give you a cool +2 charisma. Laetitia may come in handy as well.

Unless you're not a total powergamer. Then just do whatever.

Yea sorry about that I didnt really care about peacing you or killing you but I wanted my exp back from getting killed by you lot twice in a row. I almost had to pray which miffed me.
Asarnil2006-05-16 23:58:51
The thing is - once you got about 3.5k ego you DON'T need anymore than that to influence successfully. Go a high charisma race for the first few levels, but once you have enough to do whatever, keep your reincarnation to change to something that fits your RP better if you want.
Daganev2006-05-17 02:32:57
Human would be much better than anything if your going for titan. But you will also need to get autumn in Lowmagic... Harmony+Autumn+Human = 1% every 4 guards influenced at level 79
Unknown2006-05-17 02:40:39
I've actually discovered something interesting in the course of my influencing.

High charisma at low levels is actually quite bad, because you will out-pace your sipping, and can kill yourself.
