It's kind of strange; I didn't register for an account on the forum, but I think I got on this by logging onto Silferras on the main website, then going to the forums link. Thing is, I have no idea how to log on through the forums itself, so I can't post from anywhere but home since it doesn't seem to work anywhere else.. Says there was no such registered user found.

..If you understood what I just posted, do you have any words of wisdom?

Your joined date is 16 Feb 2006 - was that the first time you logged into the forums in that manner? It sounds like you registered for an account months ago and set the forum to remember your username and password, then forgot you had done so. You can login from home because the cookies are set there.

Mm, I don't think that's it. I never registered for the forums, I simply logged onto my character on the Lusternia website through the artistic/bardic contest page (edit: which was probably sometime in February), then went to News and used the link way down in it to get here. And found that I was logged in as Silferras.

It might be some kind of system that gives all IG players a forum account with their character name, or something.. Which would explain why I can't log in through the forums, since there wasn't ever a user name to log in with (as opposed to the display name).

Weird. I'd say to try changing your forum password, but you need your current password to do that here... You certainly seem to have a forum account o_O In the upper left corner, does it say "Logged in as: Silferras"? If so, that's your forum account name. I believe it is case sensitive. You should be able to log in with that username and whatever password you might have used - if you have a small set of passwords you tend to use, you should try them with that username, careful of the capital S, at another computer...

Okay, I logged out, couldn't log in with Silferras as the username, panicked for a bit before trying a user/password combination I use for everything these days.. And it worked.

Apparently, I did register for an account.
