family consider ilan
You need to wait until the child is 20 years old to register the bloodline
connection.
I am not sure why the person has to be twenty, when you can choose your own age at the beginning of the game. What is the difference if a newbie starts off at 16 or at 29. Why does the 29 year old newbie have more privileges on an OOC level?

Oh that kinda stinks, maybe there should be a little blurb when you choose your age that such things may be affected by it!
So are you saying you can't consider children that are 16-19. If so that sucks. Means instead of one year to wait I have like 4 to consider even the youngest person.
Choosing your age at the start of the game is bleh. I know! Give Moondancers and Shadowdancers a skill to affect peoples ages! I guess it makes some sort of a modern witch myth connection in my head! I want to be older though I guess most witch's would want to be younger...

That's just silly, i'm proud of being one of 2 or 3 active oldest players in lusternia...silly witches

I started my age as 16, Murphy how many are there of us that started our current characters at the beginning of the game?
Unknown2006-05-21 05:56:22
True! Being that old is something to be proud of, means you stuck with it through what alot of people haven't! I wonder what will happen when you get to 100! Estarra should appear and hug you just once. And then at 200 twice, etc...
Verithrax2006-05-21 06:53:55
The age restriction is probably a leftover from Achaea...
Unknown2006-05-21 07:10:12
I think it would be nice if there was a line in your honors that said something like,
"He first braved the Portal of Fate at the age of seventeen."
And then all the age dependent limits could take that into account.

Seconded.

The age restriction is on Imperian as well...but the kiddos are 18 when they're "reborn" est..
Anyway, oi be thinkin' thae we shouldn't hae aen age restriction for considering kiddos. since you get to choose the age at the beginning, just keep it at that the parent has to be 13 years older than the kid,. *nod*

Yes, it's a holdover from other IRE games, since the norm is that all characters start at 18.

Shadowdancers already kind of have a skill to affect age, specifically their own age and the age of the coven they are a part of.

Their +2 charisma skill also changes their age to 16 when you HONORS them.
Mirk2006-05-21 20:53:24
heh, that's kind of funny. Was it inteded to do that, or just a random bug?

It is intended to do that. I think it came from the idea of the Book of Eternal Beauty that was once in Glomdoring before the Crow quest got de-activiated. Too bad it got removed, it would be a neat roleplay thing just to have.
