Planning a bit on making a Celestine or Moondancer alt and try out astrology (since a friend has been preaching it's ultra fun)

Before I try it though, I have a question: Can someone tell me a few exact details pretty please?

These exact stuff I sort of need are...
1. Period each planet takes to go around the sun (or the Earth/Lusternia for the Moon).
2. Distance of planets from the Sun (or likewise for Lusternia-Moon, and also includes their order from the Sun)

The stuff you can tell me will help me in making a nicer idea on the whole thing. So please either mail me or reply here what you guys know? Let the know-it-all inside you get free! (oh, and in case these details aren't allowed to be given to anyone... Sorry! Give me a break, I'm not even an astrologer yet! kiss.gif )

Oh and here's a little something I fixed up: It's not even based on anything aside from my imagination of it all. Your input will make this much more precise and I may even spend a bit more time and make it look nicer.

Sorry if it's really cheap, I just used turboc 2.01 since it's the only programming language I'm allowed to use on this pc tongue.gif

I'm not sure if I don't understand your questions or if you don't understand the Lusternian astrology solar system thing, so I'll try to answer in the most relevant way possible.

For a complete revolution (Volcano sign day 1 to Volcano sign day 1) the planets take the following amounts of time:
Sun - 12 months (duh)
Moon - 32 days
Eroee - 3 months
Sidiak - 6 months
Tarox - 8 months (?)
Papaxi - No idea
Aapek - 14 months.

Those figures probably aren't 100% accurate but they should be close enough.

EDIT: I should note that it's largely irrelevant anyway.

Moon stays in each sign for two and a half days. As a reference, the cycle switches from Bumblebee to Glacier before dawn on the 4th Estar. Other change point is late afternoon (i.e. late afternoon on the sixth of estar is when it changes after that).

That's the most detailed information I have on any.

Thanks guys!

Reason I really want this kind of stuff is so I'll get to know when the spheres will be good in advance. Which means I'll maybe need to estimate what position planets will be when. Also want to find out for myself when the next stellium will occur! (or whatever that trans skill is)

Someone told me to just get data from nativities and estimate on that, I'll probably do that. Well then! See you guys as a Moondancer wink.gif

There'd be more accurate data on more than just moon, except retrograde is a pain in the arse to work around.

So good luck, and I'll be interested to see if you can find out more of the stuff than me.

Yeah, retrograding is troublesome! If you opened the file I attached (which I swear is not a virus tongue.gif) it would show how retrograding occurs. If I were given the exact details I needed, it would be possible to predict when it'll happen.

I wish there were some new skill for astrologers to estimate what the position of the planets were or will be, based on a given date - considering they can discern what they were on the day a certain person was born...

Hey, probably a thing for envoy guys to ask for? happy.gif

Ok, here's my new problem with astrology - does anyone have any idea whether the orbits of the planets around the sun in the lusternia system are elliptical or circular? >.>

I'm hoping circular, because it makes things simpler, and I'm hoping that my hunch that the elliptical would've been too much of a pain to code is right >.>

Also, that elliptical might have meant the planets didn't spend an equal amount of time in each body (not including retrograde motion).

Anyway, anyone have any idea? Or am I going to find that I've done the most looking into this? :/

Edit: Meh, I'm just going to try and get enough to plot an epicyclic model like Candice had there, but a seperate one for each planet. Anyone who wants to help out from Seren/celest, PM Me, and I'll contact you ICly when I'm back home on Monday (all my astrological information is around a 4 hour train journey away from me atm)
Unknown2006-06-11 20:11:27
I bet it's circular to the Sun, but if it's elliptical, well, I believe it's not that much harder to code at all... just harder for us to map it out.

Anyway, I have been gone, and will still be absent every non-Sunday week. School's back at where I'm from and the candies are back to study flavor, or whatever my friends used to say. I wish all you astrologers the luck on mapping a model on the solar system of Lusternia, so as to chart planetary movements and retrograde motions, until they make an ability like:

AB ASTROLOGY PREDICT tongue.gif
Syntax: ASTROPREDICT dd mmm yyy
Must be done at an astrolabe and will show in advance what the planetary positions had been on a past date, or will be, in the future.
Note:
dd - is the day of the month, from 1 to 25.
mmm - is the name of the month, full name, or first three letters.
(Urlachmar or Url, Avechary or Ave, Klangiary or Kla, etc.)
yyy - is the year since the Coming of Estarra, 1 through 999 only.

Which sort of tears me apart from wishing for it - since it would be so great, and not wanting it - since that'll mean I have nothing to work on astrology anymore tongue.gif
