I recently made a character and joined Glomdoring, Ebonguard. But unfortunately, there was no one around to help me with anything and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I want to play a warrior archetype, what would be a good city to do it? Ideal would have citizens who were pretty involved in PK, with decent RP to go with it. Thoughts?

Magnagora is heavily involved in the PK area, and RP can be okay if it's what you're looking for. Ebonguard tends more towards the RP (different RP style that isn't for everyone, so again it's if what you're looking for) and less towards the PK, but I'm on right now and can assist should you have any questions. GHELP WYRMS and GHELP LEARNING are good places to get started if you want to do some reading before you ask.

and something really funny, that the Brood Viscanti Bonecrusher is less mechanically for PK and the Shadowlord Faeling Bonecrusher with TranS Night is like THE PKer

A common misconception. Shadowlord Faeling are stronger, as a spec race should be, but they are inferior to Aslarans. Low constitution doesn't help either.

But I agree, viscanti are not a good PK race.

No they aren't. happy.gif

I think they're equal, personally, and having played as both an aslaran and shadowlord ebonguard (a while back admittedly on the test server, but using the same formulas in place today) I can say with some degree of certainty than any disadvantages shadowlords suffer are offset by the disadvantages aslaran suffer.

Additionally people don't take into account how god damned crippling a sip penalty is, or how fecking useful a sip bonus is. Faelings have both faster herb balance and a sip bonus, whereas aslaran have both slower herb balance and a sip penalty. If you take that as well as the stats into account (such as aslaran having more str and int than shadowlord, and marginally more con, yet also having less dexterity) they're more or less equal.

And it goes without saying that a shadowlord Demi is superior to an aslaran Demi.

You know that sipbonus applies to woundhealing too, yes?

This is the first time I've heard anything of this. Would you care to provide additional information? I'm an Aslaran with a level 1 sip penalty and heals about 800 wound per application. How much does someone without a sip penalty and a sip bonus heal for?

About 800 here too. Elfen, no sip penalty. Some people just state their opinions as facts without performing actual research.

Sorry, but I know whom I heard it from. And unlike Cuber, he has a clue. happy.gif

You are aware that it's random? And that the level 1 sip bonus would make him cure 10 or 7% wounds more, that is 80 or 56, not 17?

And since when do you base your combat knowledge on hearsay?
Ashteru2006-06-06 09:31:07
Ain't random for me, I always cure the same amount.

And if the heresay is from an envoy who got it agreed by a godess, I do think I can trust it. tongue.gif
Terenas2006-06-06 21:13:49
Sorry Ashteru, I don't think you're correct. This is all done on me, an Aslaran with level 1 sip penalty.

I healed 810 the first time, 833 the second, and 816 the third. If my own healing was varied by 23 points and yours varied by 18 within 1 level of health sip. You're one in the wrong here.
Shamarah2006-06-06 21:31:44
Yea, apply health has a random factor just like sip health.

Yanno, as fun as arrogant grandstanding may be, it'd be nice if you took it to tells or forum messages and spared my eyes the senseless occular brutality they're currently being subjected to.
