A decision I really have to make...

With one of my friends gone again to the 'taint'. I don't know now if my character Turgeis, is going to stay in Celest, join Serenwilde, join Glomdoring (for peace and quiet since they've been 'quiet' for quite a while) or unsure.gif Magnagora.

This character of mine is already torn inside and out, he already lost Reiha, Verithrax, Arix, Svalis, Akuro and Orti (all Aquamancers and friends of his), either will he let his emotions get into the way or will he stay to prove his loyalty? Ixion's words still hunt him in his mind during the time I felt 'betrayed', so does Kyleel's, Telrath's, Svalis' and Orti's.

Kyleel and Telrath says they the taint is gone, they live normal lives like any other in the basin and they are what they are except more stronger than any of the other races and wish to spread their influence.

Ixion says that if I should join Magnagora, I will be 'watched', taken cared of and given the training I need to defeat my enemies (If I remember his words well).

Akuro, like all the others, left Celest because the way Celest is running.

Svalis' and Orti's words is something I don't understand. ICly, how can someone find peace and quiet in Magnagora? Not to mention the knowledge they seek?

I already left Celest and the Aquamancers once when I felt I am no longer needed and can take care of my own. Now that I returned, others are still angry for my rash actions, especially someone in the Aquamancers. I can't talk to them or be forgiven anymore...

I already left the city once, I can probably do so again if things don't look good for my character.

You obviously like something about the Aquamancers and Celest - whether it is the roleplay, the skills, the people, the general attitude or whatever - because you chose it, and then came back to it.

My advice is to try and work out exactly what that is. Consider it very carefully. Would you give it all up for some old IC friends?

Personally, I know I'm a big sufferer of the grass-is-greener affliction, and I've left Hartstone a few times and always been drawn back. If there is any chance you can get things back on track where you are, I would suggest trying it first.
Ashteru2006-06-12 13:41:24
Hey, if you don't like Celest, then join Magnagora. *shrug*

Thing is, if you don't have any friends left in your organisation, and only enemies, then just screw it, the hazzle and all would probably be not worth it.
ferlas2006-06-12 13:46:59
It sounds like you want to leave but your worried about what will happen if you do?
Unknown2006-06-12 13:56:21
That's the problem Ferlas, I know Celest and its territories inside out, where the statues are, what's in every village, guard's position everything.

Celest has always been my home for me, even when I make a new character and join the other side, I always think of Celest and forget my newly made char.

But now it's already like hell here, some wanted an all out war while other's don't, other's don't care about me or gave me suspicious looks whenever I stay neutral, a prince who I really don't know what his true motives are, my friends IC started leaving...

Yeah, I was very loyal to Celest when I was young, I did everything from raiding Shallach to desecrating shrines of Raezon, follow the law to the very letter. But will all the crap this character has gone through, he's already doubting.

Eh, join mag. Would be fun to try to convince you to stay too smile.gif Really, do what you think'd be the most appropriate... I mean, is Turgeis (you -are- Turgeis, right?) still loyayl to the Light? Does he want to try to fix Celest? Is he really and truly fed up with it? Really, only you can answer these questions. No one should know your char better then you happy.gif

Yes I am Turgeis, and you posted twice tongue.gif

EDIT: And I know my character well, he plans to be a Demigod, make Magnagorians fear at the mere mention of his name, Champion of Celest, bring glory to the light, etc.

However, that's who I am when I was 16 years old to 25.

Now, I'm weak at heart, doubting his faith, torn both inside out, a loner... you do remember the crap I all went through and being Melodramatic and all that?
Xavius2006-06-12 14:17:31
I don't know you or your situation, so I'll just do some completely untailored advertising for Glomdoring. Fact is that no one joins us with proper expectations, so um...yeah, if it doesn't appeal to you, we just don't want you. It's a great place and all, but it's no fun if you end up drawing the ire of people above you.

The Shadowdancers, probably our most popular choice for converts, is a cult. I hear it's great fun--lots of interaction, lots of slowly revealed teachings, lots of guild projects, lots to keep you busy within the guild. It's not evil. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It's a very community-minded group, but it's also the most insular group we have. If you join the Dancers, your contact with Celest and Magnagora will pretty much end when you say your oaths.

The Blacktalon, my personal favorite for rather obvious reasons, is probably the most individually-minded of our guilds. The support structure is there, but in heavy contrast to the Shadowdancers, most of what we do is done as individuals. Most is taught in a mentor-student relationship, and most of the work is done individually. There's lots of potential for responsibility and spotlight as a single entity. There's very little emphasis on the processes we lay out, but we reward results quite generously. By Glomdoring standards, the Blacktalon is probably the most tolerant of interaction with outsiders (note that this still means that your focus will remain very heavily on Glomdoring--foreign=bad).

The Ebonguard, our largest guild, is the one with the loosest controls. Their system allows for heavy specialization, guidelines for advancement are very concrete and explicit, and as long as you stay within the rules of the commune, the guild more or less leaves you alone. RP-wise, it's very similar to the Serenguard--rough tribal warrior theme.

Glomdoring as a whole is not nearly as quiet as it seems on the outside. We create our own world, and we only include our own people in our world. The whole commune has a very xenophobic bent. The commune's motto is "Nothing matters but Glomdoring," and they mean it. There's a lot of room for every individual in the commune. You won't be lost in the crowd like you are in Celest or Serenwilde. You're not going to be ousted, enemied, and pulped for moderate infractions just because you're new like you might be in Magnagora. There's a big sacrifice involved in cutting off contact with the other three organizations, though. It's not for everyone, but it's the greatest place to be if you can live like we do.

Is that a "you won't really be pulped for those things like Murphy says," right there? Or a "the infractions people are being pulped for aren't moderate?"

You won't be pulped if you aren't a completely moronic novice. tongue.gif

I think it was more of a "shut up, you're an inept boorish idiot who has a severe problem with representing your entirely erroneous views as facts".

And, yeah, the infractions people are beat up for are not moderate. I've only seen Murphy pulp + enemy if someones either harassed him, betrayed Mag in some serious way, or otherwise been an uber cock.

I really wouldn't let things like that bother you. So you don't know the layout of mag or the best way to defended it. Thats part of the attraction of going to new places you meet new people you learn new things. And as you already know how to check this stuff out you will pick up on a new place pretty quickly.

There you go then, your unhappy with it and you want to move is the impression Im getting from you. It just sounds like you want to go but are worried about taking such a big step. Basically just dont worry it'll be fine. If you want to go then go. If you want to go, go and you'll be happier for it. Don't worry about the little things they tend to sort them selves out anyway, as you said you have already heard you will be welcome in mag etc.

It really does seem like your just hesitating and worrying to much about the little things, most importantly go to the organisation you want to be in, just go for it and Im sure the little things will click into place eventually.
Daganev2006-06-12 20:57:31
IF you don't like something because of a larger issue, having your main char leave, as apposed to just making another alt, atleast sends a message to the rest of the city.

If its just that your bored, make an alt.
Hazar2006-06-13 01:24:15
If you're unhappy with the dissent...I'm sorry, really. Right now, Celest is like Florence right after their Republican revolution, before the Medici came back and laid the smackdown. EVERYONE has ulterior motives, whether it's spying for Mag, teaming with the Wilde, screwing their GM or becoming GA. There's intrigue up to your scalp.

So, if you don't like that...well...the only place without dissent is Glomdoring. cool.gif
Diamondais2006-06-13 01:32:24
Its hard, harder than it should feel for a game, people hold grudges far too easily and far. Though, Ive been in your situation with the Serenwilde and Celest, only I never left Celest. Do what you feel is best, the temptation will always be there and if people bother you too much have a chat with them about why you left. Not everyone is thick headed.
Murphy2006-06-13 04:18:03
Whoever said it was correct.

I only enemy+crucify (i like it better, more style) people who are being total fools, I always give a warning once, and they only get the rough treatment if they specifically disobey me or continue to speak after being told they are to be silent.

Most infractions against my person (like maybe some random licks me) will just get you crucified as a warning, and if i'm feeling specifically annoyed i might affliction lock a novice and leave em there.

Really you have to act out to get any punishment.
Vix2006-06-13 04:30:08
I need a badass move to punish lickers. sad.gif
Verithrax2006-06-13 07:33:42
I suggest you go for advice IC. Speak to old IC friends and talk to all the ex-aquamancers.Come talk to Veritharax; if he can't sweet talk turgeis into leaving, he's insanely loyal to Celest. Or suspicious of Verithrax, which he should be. wink.gif

Fanaticism is FUN!
