Is it ethical to copy a portion of a published book to a scroll?

To explain, last night I played and Ardrak was talking about some histories. I realized that the History of the Elder Wars had been updated, so I ended up looking for a copy of the book in the library. I was a little addle-minded that day, so it took me a while to figure things out (Noks copy was an unlinked translation, I ended up going to the World Library (no copies) and then Serenwilde (they had one!), until I realized we also had the book--then I didn't realize it was written in Divine--I was such a doofus last night wacko.gif ).

Anyway, Warlord Daevos asked me to copy the Book of Tae into common. I know there is a Translate ability in bookbinding, which I thought was to be used for such occasions, but I don't think it works on library books. So I was wondering if this is an okay practice to cut and paste text (it was just one chapter to a scroll). I remember Elcyrion frowning on it, but I wasn't sure if this was allowed.

So I was wondering if I did the right thing. Daevos suggested it was okay, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing something bad with the skill.

You can't publish it under your own name. Copying is okay I think, just not publishing it and claiming it is your work.
